Mullins after claimed from....wow!
Just did a little research.
206 horses claimed from Jeff Mullins 62 failed to race more than five times (30%) 10 broke down in their very next start (5%) Most took a downward form cycle unless claimed from an expected drug user. Is this data similar to most trainers or can a judgement be made here? |

I don't see it that way at all.
If you take drugs totally out of the equation...you're obviously left with no one to blame. The problem wouldn't exist. |

Look when you've got a sport (baseball, auto racing, horse racing, pro wrestling) where people with mullets are rewarded for what they do, you're going to end up with a giant turd sandwich with an olive.

it's a chicken or the egg arguement....so many horses in the breeding shed ran on drugs...but the breeder didn't tell the trainer to give them....so now they are producing sub-par animals but it can't all be laid at the feet of the breeder....and those breeders who DO try to avoid fad sires and speed sires are left with a useful horse that is completely unmarketable....so unless they are breeding to race there is no point....so there you can blame the end user.... it's ridiculous to blame a problem as complex as this on only one part of the equation. and if you took drugs completely out of the equation the frauds would be uncovered and wouldn't end up with ridiculous stallion deals like they do now...thus helping the breeder to create a better product.

Jeff Mullins is a giant turd sandwhich himself. Just think, he is the face of horse racing (or one of them). If he didn't fall into illegal drugs enhancing a horses performace, he'd be sitting in his fold up lawn chair outside his trailor on highway 36 slugging a schmidt in his white muscle T. |
