Default Most impressive winner on the 4th will be....

Anyone wanna predict who we'll all be talking about tomorrow evening?

I'll go with Afrashad.... he's in the 8th tomorrow at Monmouth. The favorite this time around and he should be..... nice story behind him.

He won his first at Lingfield (Dettori up) in July of 2004 and was (injured and) off till a short time ago (June, I believe... no PP's right here... sorry).

From his first, just because.....

Miss S C,
For sure this thread will be moved to "selections", and rightly so.
With that said, at Belmont in the Dwyer (R8) the #2 will have many shaking their heads when he romps. Not a strong field. Dontfearthereaper (Dutrow trainee) will make a few believers.
And in Race 3, The Tremont for 2yo's, a short field, look out for #1 Pride of Seattle.
Good luck! You heard it here way before the races, no "red boarding" accusations accepted. Never have, never will.

DTS, I totally agree with you about Dontfearthereaper... I remember being disappointed when he was scratched from the Woody Stephens because I thought he was going to surprise a few folks there...

You put it out there first! I just agreed with you... besides, don't we all share on this site?

Oops, I mean, I really like Keyed Entry... I'm sure he was scratched from the W.S. so he could target this race... yeah, that's the ticket!

Not to get too far off the topic here but I appreciate all of the members input (even gave you all credit in the Belmont: 6/29 (r5-9) thread) and I'm learning more and more every day because of all of you. Thanks for that.

Soon as I feel confident enough (or when they start racing at Bay Meadows again), I may even toss out a few of my picks...

I read about dontfearthereaper in Trader Monthly. DFR was on the cover. I think the Dwyer is full of overhyped horses. DFR, Strong Contender, and Doc Cheney are all nothing special. I like Baffert's in that one.

Nothing to be sorry about. This really isn't a selections thread. It is just a "who is going to be the story" thread.

Miss Sc,
It's ok with me...I've made the exact same mistake more than a few times.
Steve just moves 'em to where they belong.
No sweat.

I think this is a good thread. Don't see too many other's picks besides yours and mine, and the Baffert entry (not named).

You gave yourself away as being Papa by calling him "Hurricane Cat" instead of Hurricane Run. You used to always do that at the ESPN board. You always call him Hurricane Cat. I don't know why.

Default Great question..

MMSC,

The always provocative MMSC with a great question.. Haven't gone through tomorrow yet at all, but "most impressive" a day ahead is a super-fun threadstarter... Will report back after some 'capping...

First off, sorry to say that there's a Hurricane Cat, trained by AOB. i would NEVER confuse the two. (See below)...

Secondly, no idea who "Papa" is (i lasted on ESPN for about 5 minutes), but i'm sunday on other boards as about 12 people here can tell you. Just felt like a different name here (but i kinda regret that).

It's not.. It asks an exploratory, abstract question. It doesn't ask for 'picks'.. and even if it did, it still wouldn'r be a "selection" thread per se...

Sorry about that Miss Storm cat. I apologize. I didn't even know there was a horse called Hurricane Cat over there. There was a European poster on the other site who would sometimes refer to HR as HC and then would correct himself. Since I didn;t know there was a horse named HC, I figured you were the same guy. Sorry about that.

The most impressive winner will be E Z Warrior in the 8th at Hollywood Tommorrow. A very nice looking 2 year old. The race will be better what it looks because E Z Warrior is breaking from the 1 hole. This is a horse that is going to make some noise later on in the year.
