Oh, I am not caught up on the latest and greatest tech stuff so I have no idea what Skype is. What is it?

It's a voice program that uses V.O.I.P. (Voice Over Internet Protocol) It's the same technology that the phone company VONAGE uses and charges you $24.95 per month for. Skype is free to download and use forever. (It's not a demo that expires in 30 days), It's actually the best thing that hit mankind since the loaf of bread. PC to PC calls are absolutely free, but if you want to call a normal phone number (anywhere in the world) then you have to pay by the minute. The "per minute" rate is so rediculously low... for 10 bucks worth of minutes, you can talk untill chickens grow TEETH. The voice quality is AS good or BETTER than a normal hard wired telephone.

The download and install are so easy a caveman can do it.

actually, you'll have to invest in a computer microphone if you don't already have one. Any Mic will work, but the best is the headset with the BOOM mic. You can get one at Rat Shack or Best Buy for around $25.

You can also use a web-cam with Skype so the people you talk to can see you.

Logitech (the mouse people) sell a "Skype Combo"... headset (with boom mic) AND a web-cam for around $29.

If you (or anyone else that can hear me) has friends or family in far away places. You need to get skype right away. It's a thing of the future. Unfortunately, the future is already PAST.... since Skype has been around for more than 3 YEARS. The Europeans ALL have had it for that long, but Americans seem to be a tad backwards when it comes to the new stuff.


I'm gonna need help to get my 24 fun tickets back that I lost yesterday on "Stately Pegasus". We have one in the 3rd today that looks good.

Her name is "Stolen Star", and she's a real sweeheart.

I'll need 3 other horses to box with her.
