Default 7/27: Haskin-Jorge Velasquez

Hope some caught the 30 minute interview Steve Haskin did with Jorge Velasquez Friday... I thought it was remarkable. Jorge told a story about Angel Cordero telling him a joke while the pair were at the back of the pack in the 1975 Jockey Club Gold Cup...

Archives in the process of being updated next several days... Will link it when they're done. And planning for more between Steve and Jorge during the meet!

You know HOW GOOD these guys are? When Haskin and Steve were telling stories of old Saratoga...who could NOT visualize Haskin running in the pouring rain to the rail, while everybody else runs for cover to take a picture of Dr. Fager? A lot of radio talking heads just squawk...these two make radio come alive!!!!

Thanks Steve for making the few of us who could not make opening weekend half enjoyable. The only thing better would be there with a BBQ plate listening to you and the guests live!

Yes, that was an awesome show. "I heard a rumbling, like a train ... " I hope Haskin does write the book some day!

The best part about ATR at Saratoga is that you never know who will stop by the show and talk for a few minutes.
