Default SAT - ELP PK4 & W Virg Derby

Arlington Park

R4- MSW 2yr olds 1 Mile

#4 Thunder Crashes - Broke badly and was sandwiched in debut while making a nice run up the rail at 5 furlongs to finish 4th. Should enjoy the mile distance here and is extremely playable at anywhere near his 10-1 ML odds.

Ellis Park - Claiming Crown

R9- CC Emerald 100k

#12 Chestermite - Two solid efforts since being switched to the lawn. Just missed in a very competitive OC80K/N2 at CD.

#7 Self Man Made - Ramsey homebred was in over his head in the American Derby at AP, but fits well here.SCR

#3 Great Bloom - 9yr old Gelding has been super consistent and has a chance to breakthrough and find the winner's circle.

#3 General Charley - Good shipper and comes in with 96-96-98 BSF in last 3. Should be forwardly place by Canterbury Downs jock Nolan. Nice 3rd in G3 Connelly at Sam Houston this year.

R10 - CC Jewel 150K

#4 Semi Lost - Only runner with a win at the distance. Placed 2nd in 2004 G2 LaJolla at Del Mar and has returned with a pair of decent performances leading up to this.

#3 Ricardo A - Contessa ships in from the turf and he's won 3 of 8 starts this year.

R11 - Alw 22K/N1X

#6 Sentry - Nice workout on Tuesday in preparation for Asmussen.

#7 Greve - Making 3rd Career start and should like the switch back to the dirt. SCR

#8 Cat On the Line - Anything West Point TB Stable sends out must be taken seriously.

#10 Mallabar - Coming in off the bench, very similar break before his maiden score.

R12 - MSW Turf

#1 C's Lullaby - McPeek excels with these types. 31% off of a +180 layoff. 1st Turf try.

#2 Migthy Frio - Mott runner has faced tougher in four career starts and looks to get a nice ground saving trip near the inside.

PK4 - 2 3 12 with 3 4 with 6 8 10 with 1 2 = $36 for a buck and if your traveling light $18 for .50cents.

Mountaineer Park

R8- G3 West Virginia Derby (ESPN 5:00 - 6:00pm eastern)

#9 Zanjero - Just missed in G3 Northern Dance at CD versus the talented Matz's runner Chelokee. Has been competitive amongst divisions best and gets a weight break from top contenders here (8-11 lbs).

#1 Sam P - Finished 3rd in G3 Northern Dancer at CD and seems a bit shy of the camera.

#5 Slew's Tizzy - Multiple graded winner got crushed in G1 Belmont and this is more to his liking. Expect Robby to be on the front trying to cut some soft fractions.

#8 Dominican - Only Grade 1 winner in the field and had most of his success on the synthetic surface.

#2 Dr. Googles Boogles - Roman trainee has been improving and might have the right running style to get a piece here. SCR

#6 Delightful Kiss - Back to back victories makes him a logical contender, but he must step it up versus these and he'll probably be less than 3-1 at post time. Iffy.

Good Racing Luck

I've had a little luck with the ELP P4 without going too deep. Large fields on Claiming Crown day should make for a big pool and decent payout.

2,3,11,12/4,6,8/1,6,8/2,3,5 $54

Mclem, OK with the scratch of DGB I have included him underneath. I just having a difficult time of including him at low odds, but I said the same thing about Lawyer Ron last week and it cost me dearly.

AP - R4 - #4 Thunder Crashes (off at 9-2) ran decent to catch 2nd ($5.60 to place), but R2 produced a nice winner Mr. Harry almost 2 seconds faster than Pletcher's winner in the 4th Texas Wildcatter. Both races were MSW going the one turn mile at AP. You might want to add Mr. Harry to your stable mail, he led all the way.

On a side note, Elocution trained by Asmussen was an impressive winner of the Juvenile filles at MNR. Last year, the race produced Grade 1 winners Appealing Zophie (Asmussen) and Meadow Breeze. Also, last year's winner Change Up won the G3 Pocahontas at CD. While you are at it, add Elocution to your stable mail as well.

Gus, Thunder Crashes had a VERY rough trip, John stopped him for a LONG time before finally finding room, by then it was way too late for the win. A better ride and we're all cashing win tickets.

Golfer, I agree 100% with your assessment.
