Wow...I go away to my camp on Sacandaga for 10 days...No TV...No Computer.....I come back and Cornholio is ahead in the jockey standings, Kent is in 2nd, another teacher is in space, Karl Rove is out and they are running a 2 mile race at Saratoga. What am I going to hear next? A record crowd on chair day?

That one I can't figure out...nobody in the field even has remotely gone that distance.

Just box up Lear's Princess, Lady Joanne, and Folk and you'll get a nice tri with Pletcher not hitting the top three. If Panty Raid somehow gets under 4-1 then throw in Octave for a guaranteed payout.

Isn't he also entered on Friday's card? That spot looks better than this one.

OCTAVE - Mother Goose and CCAO winner
Panty Raid - Black Eye Susan and American Oaks winner
Lear's Princess - 2nd in the CCAO
Folk - UAE Oaks winner
Lady Jo Ann - 2nd in Mother Goose
Tough Tiz's sis - Hollywood Oaks winner
Moon Catcher - Deleware Oaks winner

This is what a major Grade I is supposed to look like. Not one Auto toss in the field IMHO. This is one fantastic field.
That's why I torn when Rags opted out. On one hand you want the best filly to run in arguable the biggest race of the year for the 3 yr old filly's but we probably would have been looking at 4 horse field.
Now we have the best of the best well excluding Rags that is.

Oops, I just unknowingly duplicated what you said here on another thread. I agree 100%. His sire and broodmare sire were both G1 winners at 12f (although Majestic Light's was on the turf) and his dam was a G1 winner at 10f. Not bad for this distance. It will be interesting to see what the odds do for this race. I like him, but if everybody falls in love with his pedigree and the odds get crazy on him (like 8/5 crazy) there could be some value elsewhere, especially since I believe this is only his third lifetime start.
Oh right, this thread was supposed to be about the Alabama, but the 3yo filly division without Rags can't really hold my attention this year.

In the Alabama I think Lady Joanne is going to be real tough. I might use Folk and Panty Raid as well.
After a quick look at the PP (http://www.drf.com/row/pps/07alabama.pdf) I really like Panty Raid here. She seems to be able to run anywhere on anything, and that 5f in :59.3 on Aug 12th makes it seem that she will like running at Saratoga.

Okay maybe she won't be 10-1....but her beyer numbers are low compared to the rest of this field so I think 6-1 is a reasonable guess.

Though I'm a little concerned that there will be pace pressure, I think Folk will win. I liked her race just as much as Octave's last time. I know it didn't get a big (BSF) fig -- and I haven't seen the sheet numbers -- I thought the 1-2-3 horses ran well.
True, and it will probably feature more blacktype than the field of the Travers.

I've got a feeling Panty Raid is going to love the 10 panel distance. I love her in this spot .
