No offence to the horses, but what a crappy field for a Gr2. That's really disappointing.

Cesare should make short work of this lot in all honesty, and i'd be very surprised if he didn't win easily.

EDIT: didn't realise he had the penalty for his win earlier in the year, that might make things slightly more difficult for him, but i still think he will win, won't be as easy with the extra weight though.

I think Echelon has a better shot.....

Hope E and Charlie Cool hit the board.

Blue boy will win.....

Don't forget that Cesare and Echelon are owned by the same stud. Echelon might just be in there as a rabbit to make sure there is a strong pace for Cesare, who wouldn't want a slowly run race. I'm not saying that is the case, but it could be.

Also, Cesare finished only a length behind Ramonti at Royal Ascot, and although i love Blue Ksar..... he isn't in the same league as the likes of Ramonti.

If there is plenty of rain at Goodwood, it would enhance Blue Ksar's chances no end....... you better start the rain dance, mmsc.

I don't know but my feeling is Echelon isn't being used as a rabbit..... could be wrong, just a feeling.

Blue Ksar is in the same league..... he just needs to be given the proper chance to prove it.

You know who his workout buddy was in Dubai, right?

Must go do another rain dance now but wanted to post this..... on the winner of the 2007 Celebration mile.....

BLUE KSAR OUT TO CELEBRATE IN MILE

Blue Ksar goes in search of his first success in Pattern company in the Group Two totesport.com Celebration Mile at Goodwood on Saturday, August 25.

The four-year-old was an impressive winner when last seen at Pontefract on July 29, defeating Contentious by two and a half lengths in the Listed Pomfret Stakes over a mile.

On his previous outing, Blue Ksar went down by a length to Blythe Knight in the Group Three Diomed Stakes at Epsom over an extended mile on June 2, having scored on his seasonal debut in a 10-furlong conditions event at Lingfield the previous month.

Blue Ksar rounded off last year's campaign with two victories, culminating in a decisive two and a half length triumph over stable companion Army Of Angels in the Listed Ben Marshall Stakes at Newmarket over a mile.

The mount of Frankie Dettori, Blue Ksar faces seven opponents, including Cesare, successful in the Group Two Summer Mile at Ascot last month, the consistent Dunelight and Irish raider Finicius.

Trainer Saeed bin Suroor said: "Blue Ksar came out of his last race well. He is in good form and ready for this step up to Group Two level.

"It's a tough race but he deserves to take his chance. Although Blue Ksar has won over 10 furlongs, he shows plenty of speed and we are happy to run him at a mile. He always gives his best."

Godolphin captured the totesport.com Celebration mile last year with Caradak, in 1999 with Cape Cross and in 1996 with Mark Of Esteem.

Yeah he worked with Discreet Cat, but that means nothing really. On all of his form, he looks slightly short of what Cesare has achieved, that's all.

Cesare's Royal Ascot form looks very strong and a repeat of that form will make him very difficult to beat, on ground which could be too firm for Blue Ksar.

I have had a dreadful week in picking winners, so it probably won't change this weekend. However, he is a confident selection.

Blue Ksar was beaten fair and square behind Blythe Knight at Epsom, and on evidence he will do well to turn that form around.

Blue Ksar is a nice horse, but he looks to have things against him here with ground and trip not as he would like in my opinion.

He was chosen to work with him.

He was chosen.

The chosen one.

THE CHOSEN ONE.

Means something to me.

C'mon, Blue Boy..... win just to show No Chance how good you are, damnit!

Many different horses worked with Discreet Cat this winter..... he wasn't the only chosen one

I know he is good, but i also don't think he is quite as good as Cesare, that's all.

Apart from Echo, he is probably my favourite royal blue blue, i've always liked him since he was second to the one and only Desert Authority..... who i think has been injured He was doing two canters a month or so back, but still nothing

Anyway, i think Cesare will win with Blythe Knight and Blue Ksar taking 2nd and 3rd, but i'm not sure in which order.

I hope the Racing Post are right with this comment.......

SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: CESARE (nap) looks a notch above this opposition and ought to be tough to beat, having put up a career-best when overcoming difficulties in running in an Ascot Group 2 last time. Jamie Spencer, in superb form at York this week, will be alive to the danger of allowing front-running Dunelight too much rope up front and Cesare can be expected to peg back the 4yo late on for a third win in four runs this season.
