Default Green Monkey will NOT run at Saratoga

I guess they have been extremely patient with him so far, but until he actually races it is hard to believe another mysterious injury isn't going to occur just in time to get him ready for the shed next spring.

They prob feel that the MSW at Saratoga are too competitive for The Green Monkey. I am sure that the connections do not want to embarrass themselves by getting clobbered at Saratoga.

he sure is a looker...doesn't matter much tho, if he isn't a runner....

can't remember the last time so much news was made about a horse NOT doing something.

i hear they are aiming his debut now for the jockey club gold cup.

their other consideration is to debut him against discreet cat.

We can safely say he is useless.

Is he still dropping his work riders nearly everyday, or is that a thing of the past?

I heard that they are going to ship him for the ARC so he will feel more comfortable since his name sake is over that way.

They have to do something and if polytrack gets him to the races, then poly it is.

Hard to say isn't it ? Some horses do not start until 4 and go on to have very productive careers. There is no rule that says a horse must start at 2 or even 3. The most important thing is health, for any horse.

That's right. Just think of Nashoba's Key. Didn't start until age 4 this year.

You know, more and more I'm rooting for the horse - he can't pick his sales price, or his connections - he's an extremely handsome son of Forestry and I hope he's a runner.

If not, maybe one of us could someday buy him as a gelded saddle horse ....
