Default The Green Monkey running Saturday (honest!)

http://racing.bloodhorse.com/viewstory.asp?id=40776

Well if he actually gets in the gate and finishes the race green monkeys will officially have flown out of someone's arse. Allegedly he's at Belmont against maidens 3yr and up on 9/15. I'm hoping it'll be on during the 3-6pm TVG feed so I can tape it while I'm at a football game. Can someone check?

If memory serves me correctly this races was either the fourth or fifth so it will probably have a post time of 2:3X or 3:0X.

You should be able to tell when the race is if you look at the www.Nyra.com and look at future entries. It should tell you there.

C'mon folks, I think we're being a little hopeful/naive to think he might be in the Classic...he's clearly pointing for the Dubai World Cup off of what will become a 6 month layoff. Unless of course this maiden race for 3yos and up is part of the "win and you're in" thing.

can someone explain to me why this horse cost 16 million dollars?
I know he is by Forestry but the Dam was 1 for 11 lifetime.

It looks like he mght win though. his recent works look pretty sharp and I hope he runs to his price.

Because there were two EGOTISTICAL MANIACS (who want to rule the world of Thoroughbred Racing) at the sale and both desperately wanted him. I think it is a little ironic that the "loser" at the sales has already purchased the Breeding rights to all other horses in the crop.

Oh by the way I plan on going to Belmont today will will be selling pictures of the Green Monkey on E-bay with a reserve of $16,000. I figure this is a bargain compared to his purchase price and there might actually be some one stupid enough to buy it. Any one want one? All DTers can have a 99.9% discount.

Morning line is even, but I bet he goes 1-2. Anyone know anything about the others? The rest of the five horse field will be overlaid.

Maybe the bridgejumpers will come out today. Might be worth betting all to show.

As of 11:12 when the early scratches came out he was not on the list. Very exciting stuff. Did they open up the parking lots at 8 am expecting tens of thousands like they do on Belmont day?

I don't know if Pletcher would run him if he wasn't 110% sure he'll run 1st or 2nd at worst. He'll win today bet on it. ha ha

I did read somewhere they are giving away Rags pins to the first 12,000 at Belmont today. Think they will have any left over?
