His Civil War series was outstanding. Burns is really an incredible fellow. Heard him speak at a Trinity University here and he was absolutely amazing. |

My next door neighbor is all about this. He is a teacher at Northwestern University.
Off topic, he loves causing problems with college athletics, he has had multiple papers published about paying college athletes and also gambling in college. Pretty cool dude |

i think the civil war was his masterpiece. everything he's done since, including the war, has paled in comparison.
on the other hand, he does have this... "The Ken Burns Effect, made famous by American documentarian Ken Burns, refers to a technique of embedding still photographs in motion pictures, displayed with slow zooming and panning effects, and fading transitions between them. In his documentaries, Burns often used this technique to give life to still photographs by slowly zooming in on subjects of interest and panning from one subject to another. For example, in a photograph of a baseball team, he might slowly pan across the faces of the players and come to a rest on the player the narrator is discussing. The effect can be used as a transition between clips as well. For example, to segue from one person in the story to another, he might open a clip with a close-up of one person in a photo, then zoom out so that another person in the photo becomes visible. This is especially practicable when covering older subjects where there is little or no available film. The zooming and panning across photographs gives the feeling of motion, and keeps the viewer visually entertained." his own visual effect. nice. |

Btw, I am the math and reading teacher in the family not the art guy. Get it right. I'm off to tailgate for the USF-WVU game. Not sure if USF can pull it off, but it is going to be a PARTY. |
