Default 10/7: BEL; KEE; SA (Stakes; P6)

Saturday was a mix of tragedy and triumph as Keeneland experienced a sobering day with the breakdowns of Teufelsberg and Gold Train and the horrifying paddock death of Dream of Angels before the Phoenix. On the track, Purim (Shadwell), Off Duty (Phoenix) and Wicked Style (Futurity) sprung surprises, while Vacare (First Lady) and Wild Gams (TCA) earned scores.

Belmont, frequently the site of the kind of tragic mayhem Keeneland witnessed on the day, was able to produce three great performances. Nobiz Like Shobiz was stunning in the Jamaica, overcoming some traffic issues to blow past the leaders past the sixteenth pole to stamp him an authentic turf terror. Nick Zito won another Champagne (War Pass) while Bob Baffert (Indian Blessing) added another top juvy filly trophy in the Frizette. Both did it ultra-professionally on the front end.

Sunday the focus is Santa Anita and Keeneland with the National P4 tying the Ancient Title, Oak Tree Mile and Lady's Secret at Arcadia with the Spinster at Lexington. And both venues start he day with carryovers to add to the intrigue. At Belmont, a very interesting edition of the Jerome is the feature.

Racing continues at Santa Anita and Belmont on Monday for the holiday honoring history's most inept explorer. Had Columbus had a clue where he was in 1492, Baffert's Frizette winner might be named "Native American Blessing". After all, we call Indians "Indians" because Columbus thought he was in India.

Default Hey Steve....

How strong of a single do you consider Greg's Gold? I was prepared to use Idiot Proof with GG. IMO Hysterical Lady stands out more.
