Default Nice Ride Victor

Wow!!! That was some job by Espinoza there on Greg's Gold. Nice move there early to make sure he secured that position to make sure he could get boxed in for HALF A MILE. He cost many people Pick 4, Pick 3, and Pick 6 there, yes including me.

Agree..when he finally got free he took off... to late. He didn't need to win this one which always concerns me when I use the "single"...

Cost me the pick 6. Terrible.

Not sure of the ride but i will move him up on real dirt at Monmouth. Got to think he can accelerate a half length quicker in the last 150 yards

I wish he'd go back to driving a bus for a living. The guy is consistently dreadful.

Just horrible! No need to go inside...pace was set up for GG...shud have been a easy win. The ride cost me a pick 4. Perhaps his connections will change up going forward!

anyone who thinks greg's gold will win the bc sprint needs their head examined, IMO, and I'm stuck with him in the TVG contest!

I bet three weeks out a lot of people said the same thing about Thor's Echo last year.

That was a fast race and Greg's Gold should have been an easy winner. Unless one is convinced he cannot reproduce his good synthetic form on the real dirt, anyone who is not considering him a contender needs their head examined.

It's not like there's so much out there to be convinced of right now.

When you get the kind of ride and trip that Greg's Gold got does it really matter who the competition was? I mean sure he would be a little more impressive if he was in a box and couldn't get out to run down Fabulous Strike.

The winner, Idiot Proof, posted a 113 BSF at Monmouth in July and then flopped on the Poly.

I didn't say that Greg's Gold is the leading contender, I just said that I would not dismiss him at all and cannot agree with somebody who says that anyone considering him needs their head examined.

I don't know that I like Greg's Gold to win the race but he's definitely belonging of a spot on the top 4-5 contenders list. I also don't know that I would blame his rider yesterday as much as I would credit the riders of Idiot Proof and that Barbecue horse. I thought they rode great races to recognize the horse to beat and not let him have an easy time of doing so.

Also, if there is a concern with Greg's Gold, it's the Aristides at Churchill. I know it's only one race and nothing conclusive can be made of one race but it's the only chance we've had to see how he does when shipping........and he was destroyed by Fabulous Strike that day. Perhaps it was just an off day, a bad race. Or is he like Lava Man when shipping?

The preps in California this weekend all came up bad IMO and I don't want any horse that is coming out of them.
You don't have to apologize to me for not betting him. I have no great reason to think I'll bet him at this point in time.

However, I do think he is a contender for the win. That's how the whole conversation started.

While I do think Idiot Proof is going to get a bit too much attention because of his high BSF at Monmouth, the fact that he rated nicely and finished intrigued me a bit.

Look, the Sprint is clearly a wide-open race, that's why I suggested GG is still a contender. Once next Wednesday hits us and we can take a gander at the Advance Edition, we can see who else is going to run against him.

right now i'm using idiot proof and gregs gold, but i'd much rather have fabulous strike than gregs gold. i also give smokey stover a look, but i hate that he hasnt run in awhile.

the sprint looks like it's shaping up to be one of the more logical and easy races on the bc card.

the 2yo males look pretty wide open. the mile is impossible. f&m turf, you got me there too. turf, no clue either.

Yes, he is way behind other winners from this weekend, like that horse who won the "win and your in" Phoenix Stakes.

I wasnt impressed, what bias? I was pointing out how weak the division is.

the only california horse I was somewhat impressed with during the divisions was the baffert two year old filly. I still think After Market and Tiago are mildy competitive at prices in their division.

I like the Idiot as well as Gregs Gold. I wouldn't touch a Vosburgh winner in the Sprint at gunpoint, nor any NY prepped horse. 15 horses prepped at Belmont (12) or Saratoga (3) have gone off favored in the Sprint. Three have won. Cherokee Run, Orientate (both 5/2) and Artax (7/2 co-fav). 10 BCS favorites prepping at Belmont have lost. Mining, Rubiano, Henny H, all under 2-1 and Groovy, H'buster odds on. Fab Strike is fast, but he'll have to be a toss for me unless he's the sole inside speed.

it is weak, especially considering the place horse in that race yesterday.

victor took a chance, figured the rail would open, it didn't.
