Default No DQ?

Did anyone see the Lexington? After Market swerved in terribly, practically knocking To Sender off his feet and yet there was no inquiry at all. Is it simply because To Sender was fading and not going to be in the picture at the end? It seems to me that anyhorse that swerves like that should be automatically DQ'd -that's dangerous behavior. It's the same thing that got Corinthian DQ'd in the FOY......so why not here?

On that vein, Carnera ran very well to be 2nd; he was up close to a very hot pace and ran very gamely to hold the place. He'll win a stakes one of these days, I think.

Carnera also blew the break and was forced to chase inside, never easy, in an honest pace. How did the other speed do?

I needed the winner to come down, and in fairness to bettors he shouldn't have, but I have also been taken down for much worse. Not to even have an inquiry seems a bit odd to say the least.

Perhaps the Stewards have finally had enough of Durkin's histrionics. His playing Steward from the announcers booth is a disservice to EVERYONE involved in the game and he really should tone that particular part of his game down. The simple fact is that you can't ALWAYS tell what definitely went on from his vantage point and I have seen more than a few races where he screamed the proverbial fire in a crowded theater only to see the head on and realize there was no foul whatsoever.

The other speed collapsed.....he wasn't even expected to be up front. I think I've learned by now never to assume a race is going to be run the way it looks like it's going to be run - someone (this time, To Sender) always throws a wrench in the works. Carnera was expected to be the lone speed -he's talented, but he'd better work on the break (I missed the beginning of the race) or he's going to come up on the short end of some races he should be winning.

Honestly, I wasn't paying attention to Tom's call, but after his over-the-top (to say the least) call of the Suburban, nothing he says would surprise me. I've always liked emotion in race callers, but really.........I'll catch the replay tonight just to hear what you heard.
