Default Bernardini and Bandini

Knowing how bad the Coolmore people and the Darley people despise each other, I bet it is eating the Coolmore people alive that a horse named similar to their hopeful Derby horse of '05 - Bandini (that they were super high on but has yet to pan out to provide the success that they have hoped of him) is now the star of the 3yo class and probably the star of the future in horse racing - Bernardini.........I doubt there was a coincidence in Godolphin naming this horse similar to Bandini, but I chuckle when I think about it because I know that those two camps hate each other with a passion and now Coolmore has to watch a born star with a similar name as a horse they thought was their best horse in training a year ago.....

You better hope this horse wins the Jim Dandy and Travers because I too agree that he could be great, but right now he has one big win.

Remember that Coolmore has the Green Monkey. If he lives up to his billing and wins his first few, nobody is going to be paying any attention to Bernardini, they will all just be talking about a triple crown for the Green Monkey.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Green Monkey found a way into a race on Travers Day and stole the spotlight from Bernardini.

I've seen The Green Monkey train....he is fast but I was surprised how ratty looking he is....just thought he'd be immaculate in appearance for that kind of money but I wasn't that impressed...he is obviously talented, though...no question about that...

I'm typically not a big fan of insanely expensive colts, and of course there is a good chance that this one won't do squat on the track. Normally I would enjoy that....but with a great name like "The Green Monkey" I have to cheer for him.
