Default Calder, 11-10

not my favorite track, but the weather is supposed to be good, so I'll take a shot.

Race 1: #2 Holiday Blake and #6 Euro Silver Jet both come out of same race, both eligible to improve 2nd out.. #7 Two Double, 1st Wolfson, also can improve 2nd start.

Race 2: #8 Wicked Sweet's last 2 are simply faster than anyone else's...#1 Moonlit Star's last was a toss, can hit the board at a price.. #4 Cat Bin , #7 Perfect Lie can also be used underneath.

Race 3: Most likely winner of the day is #6 Cigar Man, just plain faster than these... use #9 Swift Account, #5 Yes He's Best, and #4 Lunch Club underneath.

Race 4: #5 Silk Ridge, co high-weight, has classic 0-2-X pattern, back to sprinting should run well. Baymeadows invader, #4 High Resolve, comes in off 2 open length wins, no telling how fast she may be. #1 Banga Ridge has a back fig competitive with the rest, nice ML odds.. #6 Permanent Makeup steps up in class, stretches out, but has done nothing wrong. #7 American Asset is dangerous, although coming off a 6pt top, may react.

Race 5: the 2 favorites, #4 Wise Answer, and #6 SmokeN Coal, both come in very fast, but with ?? Smoken Coal debut' with a TG 7, then got Lasix and ran a 1.5!! That number, plus the ship to Calder, could lead to a reaction. Wise Answer ran a TG 3, bounced to a 7, then came right back with a 3. This is a healthy pattern, but the 1st bounce off the 3 is cause for concern. What to do here will be a race-time decision.

Race 6: very speculative as most are making their first turf starts, or returning to turf after running on the dirt. #3 Calico Bay appears to be bred for it, fastest coming in on dirt at distance. #4 Elle Cashareau will probably be favorite due to connections, but needs to move forward (or others to not handle turf) to win. #5 Robbies Gal, showed 2 fast dirt sprints, last 2 have excuses, now stretches out and switches to turf???? #6 Ariel Bright for Wolfson enters a bit slow, but is dangerous.

Race 7: Another tough one... #6 Guapeton comes in off 7 month layoff, was very fast previously.. #1 Finallymadeit, last 4 sprints were very solid... #2 Like Now, who knows what to expect from him.

Race 8: Similar to the 6th with 2 year olds on the turf, #9 Check it Twice is fastest on dirt, turf??? #11 Extreme Frolic has run on turf before, last on dirt was very strong...#3 Jumponthebandwagon, improving with each start, Jump Start colt may appreciate the weeds (Steve-esque statement )

Race 9: Favorite #2 Annabill is solid, but may have distance issue.. #5 Cat Can Do, Zaidie, is another classic 0-2-X, but best runs have come on wet surfaces... #8 Bayou's Lassie makes 2nd start for Clement, she may be better on turf (although 1st 2 dirt sprints at 3 were very fast)..

Race 10: #1 Soldiers Dancer, comes in off 2 pt top, gets weight, possibly getting stuck inside concerns me, but if the price is right...#5 Magic Mecke for Plesa, runs well fresh, fits here.. #6 Touched by Madness, also Plesa, is a bit faster on the dirt, but definitely dangerous here... #8 Jet Propulsion, loves Calder, but seems to be tailing off a bit, and has distance issues.. #10 Revved Up, old timer has had a great year, but the relatively long campaign and outside post may take it's toll.

Race 11: Going with the "Mush" (listen to Gus' spot on yesterday's show for reference).. #1 Imawildandcrazyguy, never had a chance to run last 2 on the turf, switches back to dirt, in light, should be flying down the stretch...#3 Electrify, last 3 very strong, but may react today...#5 Yes He's The Man, pattern is very strong, distance is the major question.. #4 Summer Book, 3rd off layoff, can get a piece.

Race 12: Another very tough race.. #1 Tri to Dance, ran twice on turf earlier this year, has improved alot on dirt since then, if dirt form carries over, should be a square price... #4 Jewel of the Sky, runs well fresh, has some solid back figs...#7 Chrissy's Honor, has nice rest coming in to this, would need to improve to contend, just might be able to...#8 Demurrer, favorite and high-weight is solid, last 2 turf tries were troubled.. #9 Marchesa, #10 American Border, and #12 Silver Honoree all have potential to join the party at the finish line.

Good luck to all, hopefully a quality day of racing and wagering in South Florida!

Golfer, nice analysis. You're carrying an army tank on your back with the selection of "Don the Mush's" best bet Imawildancrazyguy. He does have plenty of positives going into this race.
Good Racing Luck
