Seems like these teams sure have money to p i s s away.Dumbos should stop buying $100 seats to these games. They just piss your money away. It's like a puddle of goo on a back.Your money means nothing to them. There is no accountability for these execs. One of the very few responsible organizations is the Padres.Atleast they refuse to just throw money at very mediocre players. No,Chuck that ain't just f'n "market value." It's a total rip-off of fans. This is the only business where you get rewarded for complete failure.

Got a 160 or so games. +(playoffs)
The advertisers are staying put.
Welcome to capitalism. The product sells.

Baseball is THE sport for players.
Chance of serious injury small,
rewards, huge.

How is it a ripoff? The people pay
through the tasty beer commercials,
to the Cardinal's hat on their head.

Now the City symphony... thats a tough gig.

Somebody is getting ripped off when a guy pitches that badly and gets 10 million a year right after doing it.For one thing, the money should be spent on somebody a whole lot better than that guy is.So,everybody involved with that organization is getting ripped off.All I know is the price to go to the game, park, etc, has gone through the roof.Yea,people go cuz instead of buying houses they rent apartments,or even more likely they are in incredible debt(even though they have good income.)They have zero discipline. It wasn't this way in the mid-late 70's.It was a great game for the fans then.

"We're just adding depth," Melvin said.

That is a classic. So if he bombs they were just adding 'depth'. If he is good, Melvin can claim to be a genius. Gagne of 4 years ago was worth every penny. Gagne of last year....not so much.

For $10 million, Gagne can buy lots of those goofy glasses he wears.

As Astros fan, can't wait for him to enter game in 9th inning at Minute Maid Park!

I dont think Oprah or Jay Leno are worth what they get(a whole bunch more that baseball players). But I dont set the market prices alone because if I did, Leno would get a few bucks, and Oprah would get zero... I barely watch them. Nah they would both make nothing cause I dont by underwear based on a cute commercial or what Michael Jordan says about them.
