Default SAT - FG PK6 card & GP spot plays

Fair Grounds

R4 - Gaudin Memorial - PK6 starts

#3 Gunfight - Bridgmo stays on because he is heading in the right direction.
#2 Semaphore - Has won off similar layoff with a 105 BSF.
#8 Demarcation - There is plenty of speed to his inside and expect him to make a nice late run.

R5 - G3 Colonel Bradley - All Stakes PK5 starts

#4 Sterwins - Won the Diliberto on Dec 15th when he closed into some soft fractions. He's in very good form for Pierce.
#8 Save Big Money - 3rd by a lgt in the Diliberto. Only making 3rd start on the lawn.
#3 Gold Sound (Fr) - Stidham spots them well. Coming in off nice win at the distance in a smaller stakes at Sam Houston.

R6 - Louisanna Handicap - All Stakes PK4 starts

#5 Steve's Double - Has a 3 race win streak which includes winning the Tenacious Handicap earlier in the meet.
#2 Port Clyde - No published works recently and gets a weight break from top contenders. Should be forwardly placed for Hard Spun connections.
#7 Sandburr - Texas bred loves the distance and attracts Leparoux.

R7 - Leggio Memorial

#3 Flying Circle - Calder shipper took the Mariah Storm at CD in last start. Fawkes brings jock Aguilar, so they mean business again.
#7 Smitty's Sunshine - Specialist at the distance. Defending champ looks to regain the title.
#5 Danceroftherealm - Steps up a bit after taking an Alw win at the meet.

R8 - Tiffany Lass

#2 Diamondaire - Asmussen filly dominated Alw foes at the distance earlier in the meet.
#3 Tizaquenna - Impressive 1st time out and now faces stakes company. The daughter of Tiznow has the potential of being special.
#4 Syrianna's Song - Most experienced filly should enjoy the extra ground.

R9 - G3 Lecomte

#6 Blackberry Road - Borel will sit back and make a big move as they turn for home.
#8 Macho Again - 1st time going two turns, but looks more than capable of making some noise.
#9 Star Defender - Asmussen #2 will be running late for a minor share.

PK6 - 2 3 / 3 4 8 / 5 / 3 5 7 / 2 3 / 6 8 = $144 for $2 minimum
All Stakes PK5 - 3 4 8 / 2 5 7 / 3 5 7 / 2 3 / 6 = $27 for a $.50 play
All Stakes PK4 - 2 5 7 / 3 5 7 / 2 3 / 6 8 = $36 for a buck.

Gulfstream Park

R8 - Alw Turf

#3 Mystic Ruler - Off since being eased in the stretch at BEL. Ran two strong races last meet at GP and is training well for Violette. 4-1 or better and I'm taking the plunge.

R9 - G2 Old Hat

#6 Throbbin' Heart - Asmussen has a knack with these types and she showed she could rate in her last. Never worse than 2nd in 4 starts and Prado seems fit to ride.

Good Racing Luck

Dismal day of handicapping at the FG and GP. Asmussen was taking no prisoners at the FG. It reminded me of Pletcher last year on Fountain of Youth day at GP, where he won with Deadly Dealer, Half Ours, King of the Roxy, and Scat Daddy. It just reminds me that on the big days, Asmussen is the king of the FG and Pletcher of GP. Oh yeah, Pletcher's runner won the G2 Old Hat yesterday.

As a handicapper following these tracks, you must sometimes call an audible on your selections and go with the hot barn. I was able to make the adjustment being at GP last year and placed a nice wager on Scat Daddy, but yesterday at the FG I continued to take a beating. Blackberry Road ran a decent race, which was one of the few bright spots on a forgetable day.
