Default 1/21: Santa Anita (P6); Oaklawn (P4)

Some terrific racing on tap for the MLK Holiday including the Winkfield at AQU; Smarty Jones as part of a great late P4 at Hot Springs; 2 soph events at FG; strong late quad of ALW's at GP and the Gr. III Palos Verdes at Santa Anita which boasts a $130,000 carryover from Sunday's difficult sextet..

A few winners and nice 2nd race exotics score were highlight of Arcadian Sunday, but big carry pot looks just as tricky here...

Need to do the 7th and 9th... Wasn't going to do the OP P4 but it's 4 terrific races and Chuck has Makutus in the first leg which adds to the fun...

About 30 min. or so..

Have looked at a lot of races as I'll run a bunch on the air this afternoon...

SA 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th.. the Smarty Jones and another from OP.. Probably the 8th from GP..

Should be a fun show...

Definitely need someone else's opinion because I have overhandicapped every race I've look at of late and I'm sure this one will be no different.

The #7 - Racing Bran in the 6th at OP will be hard to leave out. Especially with those trainer stats.

I agree with your top pick in the Smarty Jones and the need to spread. Good luck to Chuck and Mukutus and everyone else playing. I'll be sneaking down there later on today to play the SJ. Wife is sending me get some painting supplies. Sherwin Williams store is across the street from Oaklawn. I can hardly not play something today.

Going to be ill here if either the 3,5,6 or 9 comes home in the 4th at SA. I had that bomb in the 1st covered in my pick 4 but tried to go on the cheap and singled Dark Past in the 2nd instead of just spending the extra and covering the only 3 logical horses in that 5 horse race. I had the top 3 covered in the 3rd. Will pays in the Pick 4 are betwen 3100 and 19k for a dollar on those four.

I really hate this game sometimes.

Great pick in the Smarty Jones Steve. I used him with a half a dozen others and caught that 12 horse a couple of times too.

Cal,

Thx. Glad you got a piece. I couldn't find the under horses myself at all.... Looked best by far on paper to me and got serious test.

Wow I am surprised at the will pays for the Pick 6. Very logical sequence so far and an obvious single In Summation came through. The 6 and 8 will actually carryover and the 6 isn't hopeless.

Looks like you did well today at SA Steve. I should have tailed your picks. I threw in the towel after the 2nd.

Default Mukutus

Mukutus is on my watch list. He appeared to be the best horse in the race and showed a real nice turn of foot twice in the race. the first time he acccelerated nicely only to get stuck in traffic when full of run. He still rated nicely untill getting an opportunity to run again he quickly galloped out several lengths in front of the field and once again appeared to be full of run. Was very impressed with his effort.

Good luck with this colt Chuck. You certaily had him ready today all he needed was room to run.
