Default Super Bowl XLII prediction thread

Let's get it started!

"I'm dreaming Giants...but seeing Patriots" with that said.....

New England Patriots 34
New York Giants 20

Really hard to think after winning 18 straight games, the Pats will blow this one! Unfortunately, I can see this one being a "blow out". Hate the Pats and will be rooting for the G-men... think Eli is do for a bad game.

Just watched Super Bowl 25 last night as much as it pained me to do so as a Bills fan. The Giants gameplan in that game is pretty much the blueprint for what they need to do to beat the Patriots.

At least I hope so for my block pool's sake.
If the Pats score first and Gostowski doesnt have a brainfart, I take home 500 beans. Not to mention that I have (17-0 and 17-10 etc etc..) My first year with primetime numbers.

If the G Men can get pressure on Brady with their ends, without blitzing, this game will be alot closer than the spread would indicate. That being said, it is no easy task.

Gotta be tough to be a Bills fan those years, four straight Super Bowl and to come up empty....but, this Giant team ain't like that '90 one.

Good luck with your squares, the pool I did has the numbers changing each quarter.

Interesting thread Hoffy. I've gone back and forth every day since last Sunday trying to peg this. Here's what I think. Close game for one quarter.
The Giants are down 10-0 and are driving to the N.England 11 Yard Line. The dreaded Turnover occurs. 17-0. Final Score.........

either the giants win or pats BIG. i don't think the pats will have to win a close game.
2 weeks to game plan, fast track, good weather for the first time in 2 weeks. i think ne BIG.

Kind of the way I'm thinking $ Bill. There's no way my two favorite teams...Sox and Giants can take home the top prize. It almost happened my Senior year in High School....1987. Sox...blew '86 world series. Giants beat Denver in Super Bowl. Either way, that was a great year in many ways.

I laughed.

Patriots will have more points than that after they've finished their first three possessions.

You have them scoring 2 TD's, a field goal, and a safety.

Sorry Mortimer, the only way the Giants end up with a goose egg is if Randy Moss makes his long awaited NFL debut at cornerback in place of Ellis Hobbs.
