Perfect Drift
Grade 1-winning veteran PERFECT DRIFT (Dynaformer) is a few weeks away from breezing, according to new trainer Richard Mandella. "He's had a little layoff, but his owner (Dr. William Reed of Stonecrest Farm) said if he acts like he wants to run, and runs as good as he used to, to run him, but if I don't like the way he trains, just retire him," Mandella said of the nine-year-old gelding. "But he looks great. He hasn't breezed; he's a couple weeks from that. He's just jogging and galloping." The former Murray Johnson charge was last seen running fifth in a July 8 allowance/optional claimer at Churchill Downs...

Well, I do guess that if anyone can get Drifty back into shape then it would be Mandella...
I would give him a nice home though if he does need to be retired...  I would even wear my Perfect Drift hat EVERYDAY.
