i dont even like him today... i like Shediak (FR)

as for the derby i dont like him, doubt he will even be in the starting gate... i am starting to think that the fountain of youth is going to look like a very very good race come derby day.

Well,this is a very tough race today.His 1st time 2 turning.His stride,and size looks like derby type,but the breeding....not really.

Gilded Time throws a router or two, but they (gilded times') seems to excel on the turf imo. I haven't seen enough of them though to be confident in that statement

Raining at Anita..LOL...Not a cloud in the sky on this side of town.Seems like G TIMES horses do pretty well on the off.Hate the 1 hole though.I need 8-1 to bet today..Don't think I will get it.

I like Gayego at this point, but he might be too slow and have distance limitations.

He is not good enough right now to beat Georgie Boy IMO, but he could pick up the pieces.

Don't like the rail.Not gunna play him.Still be a decent price for the derby(even if he wins.) Respect the 3,4,and 8 too much to take less than 8-1.

If nothing else, Gayego is a nice horse to look at on the track.

The Santa Anita Derby is going to be one heck of a race. Cali wins the Derby this year IMO. The only thing that I didn't like about this race was that Georgie Boy didn't switch leads.

GB has been pointing to the big dance since Del Mar and he sure has grown up, but to put the west coast horse at the haed of the class is way too generious at this point. Pyro has really looked the part so far. I will make it a point to go out for the Santa Anita Derby this year and get a close look.

Gayego didn't relax like I was looking for.No doubt he is a hard trying horse.To me,he looked better sprinting.Wasn't running easy like he did sprinting.Too much like hard work.I guess he deserves another try 2 turning,but I don't think he wanted it.

The top three out west are scary good, and it is hard to separate them at this point. I like Colonel John the best out of them, but only because I've been following him since the beginning. I really like the colt.

I would like to see Pyro run the last 1/8 of a mile and an 1/8 race in less than 12 seconds. When he does that, I will put him ahead of them.

He ran a heck of a race. Beautiful moving horse. He just ran into a very, very, very good horse today. He showed guts, and he tried. It's just that Georgie Boy is awesome. If Gayego improves a little bit more, he is right there.

He is confusing me.I would like him to look a little more relaxed early on,but you're right.He came home fast.Georgie flew.He has a big beautiful stride,but he got beat because Georgie has a much quicker stride.It came down to acceleration.When a horse gets 1st crack at taking the lead (on a relatively slow pace,)and then gets beat,it would seem he is getting tired. Especially,since Georgie didn't change leads.I think he did get a little tired,but not as much as when I saw it live.It was more a case of Georgie running huge.To me,Gayego has the best stride of all the 3 year olds.With that stride,he is still dangerous.He looked like he got a lil tired late,and came out some.If he can improve his stamina,he will look like some very nice big striding grinders (Tiznow etc.)It's a big if.He look tired to you? He didn't look tired to me. He looked like he was running his guts out. He actually impressed me a lot. I thought Georgie Boy would have beaten him by a lot more than that going into the race. Of course, Georgie Boy didn't switch leads. I hope GB came out of the race okay. I hate to see a horse not switch leads when they normally do it. GB is no joke. That horse can freaking run.

IMO, it looked like the only reason Gayego came out into the stretch was because Smith was hitting him hard with the right handed whip.

Gayego is my 'dream' mover. He is beautiful to watch. I think that he will get over the dirt just fine. GB isn't as pretty of a mover, but he has got quite the motor on him. I am unsure about how GB will do when he comes off the synthetic surface because of the way that he moves.

Gayego and El Gato Malo both have a dosage index of 4.33. That means that they aren't supposed to be able to get the Derby distance. El Gato Malo looked great to me at a 1 1/8. I say dosage doesn't mean anything with a horse like that. I can't tell about Gayego yet.

Gayego is a confusing horse because he took a big step up today. He isn't in the top tier of colts right now, but if he improves a little bit more he will be. He is very nice. He should be able to run over the dirt fine as I said, but the Derby distance is a question mark right now.

Gayego's trainer is Paulo Lobo, who I think is a very capable trainer. Gayego has been raced very little, and has definitely been getting better with each start.

Anyway, those are just my two cents, and I hope this information is somewhat helpful.

Neither has tried dirt yet.I think Gayego's action will work on dirt.I hate to say who he looks like,because he hasn't shown he can relax enough early on yet.It's crucial that this trainer's crew get him to relax better out of the gate.Gunna be difficult for them to get 10f if they don't get that early pulling stopped(either that,or just let him go and see if he can keep grinding away on the lead.)BTW,I expected him to run that well,but I thought he would relax a lil more early.That's why I didn't bet him(was worried about getting stuck down on the rail,and locked in.)Georgie Boy did look like he had a lil turf action going on.I am not sure he can transfer the talent to dirt.Big maybe...Big heart sure goes a long way though.
