![]() Great card with the Jupiters Cup and Magic Millions Cup. Too bad its a little past my bedtime. I'll take a shot with Theseo in the Million, he's not a true sprinter but there seems to be alot of speed to run down.

![]() Here is a great article posted by a man loves to go by times,While i dont agree with his out come i think this gives a great insight for people who dont follow aussie racing Love what he says about magnificent dancer ![]() The Article Reads The 2YO field today numbers 21- with 16 starters named and five emergencies drawn - when the final field was announced. The rail is out half a metre from the 1000 to the 400. Some 6mm of rain fell on the track on Saturday night and as soon as the track rating is announced this morning it will be placed here. My preview of that race with a comment on every runner reads: HORSE COMMENT Acorns Went around the middle of the track at Eagle Farm on a badly biased track last start and won easily. Some people rate him highly, but I’ll pass. Astatus Not suited by the slowly run race at Doomben on 15/3/08 when second to She’s Meaner. Drawn in Arnhem Land here, but would have been going back anyway. Could run somewhere in the first six. Coniston Bluebird If he can’t run a place at Kembla Grange, he can’t win this. Jazz Heart Ran on well last start behind Acorns as if he is looking for the 1200. Won’t be disgraced at bolters odds. Pandemonia Drawn badly, but would have been going back anyway. Ran on well last start behind High Roll’N Woman. Will develop into a nice horse and could run a race here without surprising. He did a few things wrong in the run again the other day and his trainer has said he is “not there mentally”. That is a perfect summation of what I saw the other day. He has a lot of traffic to navigate through today and he has never raced against this quality of horseflesh. I’ll pass today, but I’ll still respect him in the morning. Feisty Manner If he can’t run a place in Toowoomba, he can’t win this. See You Unbeaten – and I acknowledge he put up an amazing performance to run down Reve D’or last start, but subsequently Reve D’or has been proven to be a glue factory candidate, so that now puts question marks on this horse. Therefore I’ll pass. Augusta Proud Undefeated, so you can’t bag her. Then again there are five undefeated horses in this race – and if you sit on the fence in life you’ll get hemorrhoids. I thought she’d had enough on the line at Morphettville last start and the last 50 to 100 metres worries me if there is pressure on up front. She’s Meaner Another unbeaten filly that you can’t bag. Got away with grand larceny in the lead last Saturday week at Doomben and never looked in doubt in the straight. Doesn’t impress me, but has a chance because she is unbeaten. I thought the trainer said she was going to quinella that Sydney race last Saturday with Desert War and Tuesday Joy? Wrong again – if I got one dollar for every time the “champion” trainers of this country are proven hopelessly wrong with the garbage they all cumulatively tip, I’d be a multi millionaire living in the Greek Isles getting fed grapes by some glamours. Black Minx Unbeaten, so again you can’t bag her. She won easily last start on a badly biased track and the horses she beat namely Saratoga (9th beaten 12 lengths) and Lucky Kentucky (4th beaten 6 lengths) nearly held up the next race at their next start – so I’ll pass. Whisper Bay A stablemate of former “champion” Miss Finland. This one is impossible to line up, but she has won at both Flemington and Caulfield and is well drawn. Her form reads okay, but I never have any luck with the stable, so I’ll pass. This stable talk a lot of their horses up with plenty of positive garbage, probably to keep the owners happy, but very few equine athletes live up to the raps they put on them. High Roll’N Woman Unbeaten, so we haven’t found her limit yet. Was three wide the trip last start and won well. The alley is a concern, but her time was very fast last start and she has valuable track experience. If she gets in from the barrier, she’d be a chance. Sugar Babe Has won in two States from only three runs. I thought she’d win the Blue Diamond if she started in it, so even with 21 alley and all here, if I was going to be right about the Blue Diamond, she’d have to run a race here. Magnificent Dancer Wouldn’t win if she cut across the infield and jumped in the back of the ambulance with the siren wailing. Saratoga This is aiming too high. Seesawing Ran into some of the most legless cockroaches imaginable when she won at Eagle Farm. She’s unbeaten, but she couldn’t win this. Paid 60-1 on the tote that day, so she can’t have been very highly thought of prior to the race. Free Dive (Emergency) Hopefully will be scratched here, as he is not a bad galloper, and you can take it from me that he will be hard to beat in the other 2YO race on the card. Adnocon (Emergency) No hope. Tuscon Rain (Emergency) Two hopes - Bob and none. Very Posh (Emergency) Not in this lifetime. Lucky Kentucky (Emergency) Won’t get a run unless EI returns and wipes out half of the field. Conclusion: The race is impossible, given there are five unbeaten horses engaged. If you said to me before this race that “you can take one horse home after the race”, or if you held a gun at my head and asked me to tip one horse, I’d say from my knowledge of sectional times that Sugar Babe is the horse to beat. I’m not greatly worried about the wide alley, as this is a tricky track for horses having their first look at it. I wouldn’t want to know her from barrier one, as she’d probably never get galloping room, so I’d rather be with her from out there. She’ll get cover somewhere out wide and when the squibs hit the wall she’ll pounce. They need to ride her back and for luck but like the late Racing Minister Russ Hinze used to say, “we all need a bit of luck to be here in the first place”. |
