Default So, Around 5pm On May 3rd

Will Big Brown be the biggest betting favorite ever in Derby History? Coupled with this question / thought - what will be the lowest odds you will take on this horse come May 3rd. We all know the exotics are where its at for this race but.......... if Big Brown takes a ton and gets bet down to shall we say 4-1 or lower what happens to the value?

I was going to bring up the obvious, post position draw but it appears does it not that this horse does not care. My humble opinion is you put this horse in gate 1 or 5 or 20 and Big Brown wants nothing but to beat every other horse on the track for fun.

There have been many horses go off as odds on favorites in the Derby.

Big Brown will only be a big favorite if something happens to Pyro.

Don't care what his odds are.....still leaving him out of the number, he's the 2008 version of Arazi. He wins...great, you'll be lucky to get anything near the tax rebate check from Dubya that's in the mail (soon?) Like Scav said; the perfect storm!

If everything goes well with workouts, health etc etc i dont THINK that big brown goes off at 4-1. The hype machine has started and my dad who is a very very very casual observer of racing is already saying how in the hell can i possibly think anyone can beat this horse. Now my feeling is that the casual bettor that watches only triple crown races is gonna be all over big brown. I think he goes off at around 5/2 or 2-1 if all goes as planned and he doesnt draw horribly and since i have never bet straight on a fav i wont be putting money on him. Damn, there just seems to be so many ?'s this year and its looking more and more like KD may in all honesty be a, dare i say it, race to pass? I just know that im not going to get stupid in this race i just dont feel that i have a grasp at all on this. Last year i was all over Hard Spun and while he didn't win he was a pretty consistent sort that i could depend on. Just so many friggin ?'s this year and it doesnt seem that anyone wants to step up and answer them.

Yeah I did not know that their have been some even money favorites in the past. Still a rookie I am. I still think it is a good discussion point 4 weeks out after todays racing. I am still reeling from tearing up my Bob Black Jack $20 win ticket cause when they came around the final turn I was sure I was cashing.

Anyone else get a bad vibe from the Trainer of Colonel John? Did not seem very "friendly" to me on tv. Oh well.

Damn 2mins that sux so friggin bad i agree with you as it looked like bob was the winner. I was really surprised that he was able to relax and run that good today. Good pick, you get anything on it??? exacta, tri? I hope so. And to think those people paid $6500 for a horse that was THIS CLOSE to winning a grade I race. Still 2nd ain't to damn bad.

With the way this year is going I ain't betting on **** below 10-1. That includes the exacta and Pick 3's. Way to much changing and way to much horses not keeping form. I know Big Brown has done nothing but win I see him as this years Bellamy Road.
