Default Churchill - BC

Had a couple of questions:

Are the grandsands covered? I think Im in section 124 and wanted to know if its covered.

Also, what is there to do there in Louisville. I'm flying in around noon on the Thursday (11/2) before and going to the track on Friday and Saturday and want to know what I can do on that Thursday. Any suggestions?

31,
ya know I want to say 124 isn't covered
but maybe it is~don't quote me on that
my relatives were in town last weekend
and we went to the zoo, CD, Slugger Mueseum
a Bats game, falls of the Ohio
when my friends are in town a little 4th st live
touristy type stuff like the Hard Rock there
and Marker's Mark has a bar w/ usually some good live music
Highlands though has my faves: Molly Malone's, Wick's Pizza
there are also gentlemen's clubs & "massage palors"
and a lot of churches to even things out
Ali has a museum, there's some IMAX picture shows
there's plenty to see where you won't get bored
LEX & the horse farms are about 70 miles east

Booze. Lots of watering holes up and down the main road. Enjoy.

The last few rows (2 to 4) of 124 are covered. Most are out in the open.

The Churchill map at their web site isnt very helpfull in that respect.

4th street live is a great choice for night life, along w/ O'malley's corner(2nd and Liberty, has 4 bars in 1), have a nice day cafe maybe. All the Highlands spots Bellemy mentioned. Phoenix Hill tavern has great live music. Wick's pizza is the bomb! If you really want to do the strip club thing, don't mess w/ Deja vu(although you can throw a rock from CD and hit it) or any of the ones on 7th St. PT's, Trixies or maybe Godfathers would be good. Bad thing about CD is that it's in a bit of a crappy part of town and not much close to the track that would be that "nice". Bring cab money.

Here's a good seating chart for ya. You won't be under cover, but the seats will be great.

124 is absolutely NOT covered.

I finally got my invoice...122 it is. I was in 123 for the Derby, and those seats were beyond fantastic. Cant' wait for the 4th of November.

now for one of those 124's or 122's
I'd be happy to be your tour guide
as of now I'm ticketless
forgetting when the deadline was
but if worse comes to worse
they have the $20 walking around ticket
I was just going to go closing day
and sit in the bathroom stall for
the next 3/4 months
usually what I do at the movies
whorst...which one has the classic saying...

I was in section 118 for the 2000 BC at Churchill. These are what they call 'apron' boxes. The pitch isn't real steep, so if there is someone tall standing on the level in front of you, you won't get as good a view as you might think. Still, I can't complain. Except for the TV camera they had running overhead for every stretch run; when they reset it after the races, it sounded like something was fallling on you. Those sections are definitely uncovered and CD gestapo will confiscate any umbrellas you try to bring in. Could take in food, but no umbrella (at least it didn't rain, as it had threatened to).
