That will move her up from no chance to no chance.

LOL...I must say I agree. I guess the original question was a waste of keystrokes really. Chalk it up to morbid curiousity.

I think morbid curiousity may be the perfect way to describe most of my interest in this year's Derby.

If nothing else.....I imagine all of my wagers ( which will be pretty insubstantial ) in this years Derby will die a quiet death.

You do have some Country Star on dirt action, that has to peak your interest a little.....

I never understood why anyone was excited about her at any point in her career. I wished I could have booked every cent on her in the Ashland.

Please, where is her good race?

Without Eight Belles, she is probably 2nd favorite in that race right?

I have absolutely no idea....but unless she is really a dirt horse that has been racing on the wrong surfaces all along, she is a complete non-factor.

I don't think I could name four horses in the race.

Prospective field via DRF.

Quote:
Proud Spell and Eight Belles, Absolutely Cindy, Elusive Lady, and a possible supplemental entry, Rasierra.

Otherwise, these are the confirmed prospects: A to the Croft, Awesome Chic, Bsharpsonata, Country Star, Golden Doc A, Honest Pursuit, Little Belle, and Pure Clan.

Agree 100%... I hope she somehow ends up a Balance-esque favorite or 2nd choice in the Oaks, which would create some excellent opportunities in the Oaks/Derby double...

Eight Belles won't beat her stablemate if they both go to the Oaks. . . Would love for her to go to get some kind of price on Proud Spell. . .

How about a Jones Oaks/Derby double? Has any trainer had this double, not a filly double but just training both winners?

I read on Bloodhorse that it has. I think that it's been many, many years but it's been done. Ben Jones did it a time or two, and someone else.
