![]() The horses Im throwing out:
Dennis of Cork: Overhyped wiseguy horse. Will be up the track. If you can't hit the board in the Illinois Derby, you shouldn't be allowed in the Kentucky derby. Anak Nakal: simply too slow. Period. Could clunk up for a share of 11th place. Monba: Last run on dirt resulted in 39 length loss. Cowboy Cal: Wouldnt it be something that in this crazy year, Pletcher slips in under the radar and wins with this guy? On a wet track where all the other speed types dont break with the field, this horse might merit a shot. Still throwing out. Zhumor: Mott second stringer was not finishing in the right direction in his three preps this year. Bounced off previous two 90 plus beyer performances. Last race? 94. Pass. Now, a couple of horses that arent being hyped that might make it: Bob Black Jack: Everyone loves Colonel John but this guy is getting no respect. Slugged it out in pace duel in santa anita and lived to only lose to the colonel by a half a length. The colonel will be 5-1 at best while BBJ will be 25-1. Wouldnt be the first Cal bred. Gayego: Arkansas winner never finished worse than 2nd. Came home decently after tough early fractions. Again, attractive price and he is fast enough to win. Besides, I have much respect for Lobo. Good luck to all. |
