I don't agree at all. I don't see any real effort to be deceitful. TV has to 'cut down' interviews and soundbites all the time.. it's usually done because they have time constraints. If anything, I think it's unfair and a little presumptious of the Bush administration to call this 'deceitful.'
I don't think there's any 'media conspiracy' against Bush. They're(the media) not that clever!

re: 8 Bells

An unsympathetic Zippy says:
It's common for people to want to 'make sense' of a tragedy....there are no real 'answers......it's part of this game...

shame on you zippy for being so heartless..or is that not what you meant to say...do the sound bites make it different than what you really meant?

disclamer: you can read Zippy's full statement on www.derbytrail.com/forums/ - this should not make you feel better because everyone that read the headline will go to the forum re-read what you wrote and then get a full understanding of what you said...right?

Given their track record, it seems wildly out of line for them to accuse ANYONE of being deceitful.

Though I guess when you've basically redefined the term for the 21st century, you know what you're talking about....so actually, they're probably right. Who am I to argue with the experts?

Ditto...the ole kettle/pot story.....It's interesting that the White House counsel even bothered to comment on the story...Besides it's easy to mistake what bush says, did you ever hear him string two coherent sentences together?....
