Thumbs up

That completes the Triple Crown storyline. A "feel good" addition to Big Brown's attempt to make history. Anytime there's a motivating cause, beyond greed or notoriety, it's a good thing.

Great gesture, but I'm not sure how far three or four dollars will go in this instance.

I'm surprised the guy doesn't drive a freaking Bugatti with all the big races he's won.

Three or four dollars? Hell, it would be pretty close to the $40 he might win.

I get a little annoyed when owners go to the press with things like this. It basically is a group trying to work on it's image with something like this. They just pocketed millions, couldn't they have just offered money privately instead of saying they would give part of winnings from the horse?

There are many people in the business that do good things that don't go looking for credit. Many trainers do things like provide places to live for guys that work on the backstretch that were injured.

I think many people would have provided money for this family because he is a policeman. Things are already set up to help them. It is the people that you never hear about that need the help. But I guess you don't get in the dailynews by doing things quietly.

they were just trying to give a good story and reason for Belmont Day and Big Brown, nothing at all wrong with that.

Yeah I heard Ivarone set up a foundation for the cop. He will manage the fund and ONLY chop 20% of the donations for his efforts...Look a man has to earn whenever an opportunity presents itself.. The guy is a sweetheart..lol

I guess anything going to the poor cop is helpful..Just hard to believe anything they say or do isnt jaded..

Give quietly if you really are interesting in helping. You don't have to turn tragedies into public relations events. If the beneficiary wants to make it public ok, but going to the press and saying you will give part of the horses winning to somebody is really nothing more than a way of trying to get the public to root for your horse.
