You can't compare the disappointments of missing the race with the disappointment of losing with a shot for the triple crown, but this is how you handle adversity with class. Mr. Dutrow could learn a few lessons..maybe not, he didn't always learn his lessons in the past.

So, so, so true. Can you imagine what that would have done to the race and the sport in general. I know that the ratings were well below 2004, but with several million more people tuning in than normal, which means non-racing fans, and to have both of the heavy favorites limping home would have been the worst thing possible, especially following this year's Derby coverage.

Very classy guy...
