Default McDonald's.. Who are they kidding?

As someone in food, and marketing, I've long been a McDonald's admirer.. until these last few weeks... Have to say that I'm wholly turned off by McD's claiming in ads how 'they've worked endlessly to create a perfect chicken sandwich'...

Really? Endlessly? Tirelessly? They're totally full of crap.

They've ripped off Southern fast food institution Chick Fil 'A so obviously with this sandwich that it's shameful. But to then posture like they thought up a white meat filet on a fluffy bun with pickles? They should drop dead. Truett Cathy, the self-styled evangelical chairman of Chick Fil 'A, came up with that tidbit 40 years ago and built a helluva chain on the concept.

Oh.. And that chicken biscuit McDonald's wants you to think they 'developed'? Uh.. Bojangles, Popeyes and Biscuitville have had them for 25 years.

They should be embarassed at Oak Brook.

Some people don't even know there is a Chick Fil A

Chicago, to my knowledge, doesn't have one. We dont have a Sonic here either but we get bombarded with Sonic commericals like crazy.

Now, while I was in Carbondale, I had access to all the good fast food joints

You too??

There isnt one here in Philly either, but rest assured every 15th commercial is a Sonic. Horrible marketing if you ask me.

When I stayed at a hotel in South Carolina for my cousing wedding, a Sonic was a stones throw away. Let's just say I came back a few lbs heavier than I went down. The best fast food you can ask for IMO.

As for the McD's. Havent touched the stuff since 2003-04. One of the stores around me was shut down due to problems with Mickey and his cohorts. Turned me off of fast food in general for a while, but couldnt do without my frosty, so I became a Wendy's loyalist. (chicken only)

I'm typically not a fast food eater, but Wendy's does have the best burgers and the frosty is pretty good too! McD's & Burger King gross me out though.

Growing up...they were constantly giving out samples in front of the store inside the mall. They cut up the chicken into pieces and then put toothpicks in em. We'd eat about 2 sandwiches worth in a night for free just strolling the mall

I rarely eat hamburgers...but I have to admit, I went to a baseball game last week, FOr $10 you got a general admission ticket, and all you can eat hamburgers, hot dogs, popcorn and peanuts. I had 3 burgers that night..and I haven't ate 3 burgers in a year.

Sounds like me stalking the boardwalk's Fudge Kitchen waiting for the fresh macaroons and fudge...

There's a long story about those waffle fries which Simplot developed at a great expense for Burger King I believe. Then, BK ultimately passed on the item and that left Simplot with a huge development bill for lathes and molds, etc. Enter Chick Fil 'A who made a deal with Simplot to carry the waffle fries and stick with them for an extended period, and at a discount, to help Simplot offset their expenses. And they ended up becoming a signature item for Chick Fil A...

Mc D's is good for the mcskillet burrito breakfast (sausage) and the chicken wraps they came up with a year or two ago. I get those things once and awhile.

Wendy's has a good chicken sandwich and frosty's are the best! I go to Wendy's probably once every few months.

BK I skip by...

Sonic has great root beer floats! and tots! Thats really all I'll get there...

Chic Fil 'et is the bomb though! I get a chicken sandwich there maybe once a month. Great with mayo!

I try not to eat much fast food but it's so easy and its sad that getting some things off the dollar menu is cheaper than going to the grocery store these days! So I try to only get a chicken dish.. and avoid the fry's and burgers and soda's... but it still clogs arteries!

The only time I get a burger at a fast food place now is Krystals after a night of heavy drinking. And the only reason I go is my friend drags me there... Nothing like a few mini burgers with onions, pickels and cheese to absorb some booze!

That is because there are always two felons -- paroled or otherwise -- in every Denny's at all times.

Used to eat at Denny's, it seemed anyways, about 8 days a week when I was caddying. Loved me some breakfast skillets with home fries

Its unreal how much food they force on you.... I got a small frosty, chicken sammich and small fry.

There were like 63 fries in the the small order... way too many!!

And the small frosty was 12 oz!!! I was hoping/expecting like 28 fries and an 8oz frosty....

and we wonder why we're all fat?
