Default Uhh, yeah. Dumbest quote ever perhaps?

"On his best day he's as good as any horse ever," Zito said of Commentator.

I think the "G" rated version would be that he is taking amendment #5......the other possibilities involve various positions and acts that are better left to the imagination!!

I can't ridicule him for that comment. People say stupid s.hit all of the time, yet most of them don't pocket at least 45k in the span of two minutes. I'd probably compare him to Man O' War in a thick Irish accent if that happened to me.

"Fixed that for him"

Oh, yeah, I guess I should have read his quoting of my post. That's much better.

It makes me wonder.

Does Zito not yet realize the importance of the easy lead for this horse?

By easy lead I mean either uncontested or going against cheap speed w/o going too fast.

It is stunning to think that he still hasn't put it all together yet with this horse!

Its amazing Zito has spent the last 2 years trying to turn him into a sprinter.

How many Distorted Humors are there sprinting?

I'm sure he understands that. Does he have some power to tell the other horses in the race to let him go? It makes me wonder how gullible you are if you believe that everything quoted in the paper is actually what was said and/or was said for what reason.

Had he run in the Whitney the last 2 years he would have got his head handed to him. He won because the race was fairly pathetic and he had an ideal trip. How often does that happen?

That's ok. You are someone I put no merit to.

That is funny though, in a way, since most people would say I'm cynical and I have an implicit distrust of the media.

You might want to rethink that for a second Chuck.....who set the pace in the 2007 Whitney and where did he finish?

People say silly things from time to time... big deal... why is it the DRF's fault for printing it? Maybe it was taken out of context.. I doubt it.

I dont see why his comments is so far fetched? I am not sure of being as good as any horse ever but when Commentator ran his best races he did it with Beyers of 120 or higher (4 times) from sprints to route races. How many horses can we say achieved that? True, he is very inconsistent but when he is on his A game he can contend

Commentator v. Lawyer Ron? I think Commentator when "right" is pretty f'n good... at a 1 1/8, I'd take him v. any horse I've seen since Ghostzapper...

Thanks.

My point, of course, was that Wanderin Boy set the pace that day, and still held on for second. Now, Commentator is a better horse ( duh ), and had he been in that Whitney, Wanderin Boy most likely would not have, and I think it is fair to say that if Wanderin Boy could have held for second that Commentator certainly could have had a real say in the final outcome.

Very likely.
