Bad day for Sox fans. Get killed by Angels again, Yankees win, get Pudge and get rid of Farnsworth.

At the moment one must admit that the Angels are odds on to win the thing this year. They deserve it......now all they have to do is get through Aug. and Sept.

Manny has ruined the chemistry of the team and will be out of Boston for less than value tomorrow or in the off season. The 2 world championships take the sting out of the BS he is responsible for but Manny is sadly mistaken if he thinks he is worth 4 years for 100 million at this stage of his career especially with the way he has handled this season.

Sox fans have nothing to bitch about. The last 3-4 years has been magical and they will make another run. Pudge can't pitch so the Yankees remain the team that Baltimore bitch slapped this weekend.

It wasn't a bad day but a horrible month for Red Sox fans...

Is that a good thing for them? Molina is now a far better defensive catcher and has anyone really looked at the Yankee lineup and thought their problems came from not getting enough offensive production out of the catcher spot? And knock Farnsworth all you want, I'd take him in the playoffs over most. What I remember most about the Yankees that actually won championships was the bullpen. Not the overpaid, former steroid stars that are now a shell of their former selves.

Rodriguez is still a good catcher, is a far superior hitter to Molina and has extensive playoff experience. Molina is a back up period. There is a reason that Rodriguez's teams always win. Farnsworth is not a trusted pitcher. He is average at best and shaky in his last 2. Pitchers like him are easily replaceable (just look at Oakland's bullpen) but players with Rodriguez experience arent readily available. When has Farnsworth been better than a league average 7th inning guy?

BTW - Think the Mets wish they had signed Loshe?

Lohse still sucks, just a hot stretch right now. The starters have been fine, it is the bullpen that is killing them.

After sitting on their asses, management decides that the BEST MOVE they can make is trading Manny for Jason Bay.

Pedro looks real old and Maine is hurt. Loshe is a better pitcher than you give him credit for and he is durable which is something that teams need right about now.

It is a very good trade for the Yanks. Don't forget that they tried to almost give Farnsworth away last year with no avail. Now at least they got someone who can contribute to the team. Molina is a good backup, but he isn't the answer for a team trying to make a run.

Jason Bay is a good player. I dont think this is a bad move, in fact it is probably a good move for them especially considering manny's attitude. Look at the numbers this year.

At one year $4.25 million he is a great deal. Boras wanted 4 years - $40 million from the Mets though which is way too much for a guy that has never had an ERA under 4.18 and was coming off two pretty terrible years. At the time I'm sure they were also expecting more than 0 starts from El Duque. I thought him and Pedro would at least get us close to a season combined.

Agreed, if they can do Manny for Bay and not have to give up any prospects it is a fantastic deal. Bay is as good as Manny now and will be an all star for years to come.

I bet you Minaya wishes now that he was paying Loshe 40 million over 4 years as opposed to the 4 year 25 million contract that he gave to Castillio. Just awful!

I used to think Omar Minaya was a move up off of Phillips. I am starting to wonder.
