Default Retribution

Anyone need this horse yesterday for anything significant? I imagine many did and what a bad beat. This is a horse I have bet and lossed on so many times, and been beaten by 2-3 times at Saratoga and Belmont.

If you havent seen the replay of the last race yesterday, watch. Like so many times before, Retribution opened up a huge lead, at one point was ahead about 15 lengths. He held on really well and lost the race in a head bob to the favorite Logic Way. I liked his chances yesterday, esepcially with the scratch of Provincetown, but couldnt get out of work to bet (good thing). Would have been a horriffic way to lose what would have been a big win bet. Probably wouldnt have had a double going as I liked Run Red Run and Mr Bourbon Street best in the feature, and they both ran like gerbils.

I was live in the late pic-4 to Retribution, Logic Way, and North Country (for half), so it turned out to be about a $600 photo for me. You knew that the field was coming and that he had a chance to get beat, and when they hit the wire, I knew he got beat. For that reason, this beat was not as bad as Sonny Pajamas on Opening Day, where it looked like nothing behind SP was moving when he assumed the lead in the stretch and seemed to draw off.

Retribution did run a big race yesterday.

He did run huge. Personally I am glad he didnt win because I was very close to running over there to make the win bet (when I saw him open at 7/1).

But its not like the field was coming. Only 1 horse came. Amazing that so many horses get beat by a horse who runs as fast as he did. What the heck happened to the rest of the horses?
