Has Tiger Eyed even started her career debut yet? and if not, has it happened in history before where the horse is a mommy before her first race?

Cute baby though...

My favorite part of the story was this quote from the trainer:

“Do the math,” the veteran trainer said. “This had to happen in some pasture when she was only seven to eight months old. There must have been a colt in the mix somewhere or somebody jumped the fence.”

Yeah, do the math!! She got impregnated at 7-8 months of age and it took her two years to carry to term!

I guess Ellis is not the only trainer out there that is horse age impaired.

I wonder if this horse is owned by the same people that had

Where's Dad or Who is my daddy or something like that. It was racing in Louisiana and the sire was listed as Unknown.

It was the first time I had seen a horse that didn't have the sire listed.
I remember that it finally did list a sire but don't remember who they pinned the deed on. Probably Secretatariat

I think back in the olden days this happened more often. Maybe not

but how in the hell does Mouton not notice the filly is in foal? The foal doesn't look tiny.

how can they take the baby away from her so soon?

Do they normally take babies away from mommies this quickly?

I doubt that the same people own this horse and the one your referring to..I do remember that filly that your talking about, but I don't remember who that Sire was or what ever became of her..
As far as taking the foal away so soon, they did it so that they can keep the Mom in training plus they felt she was too young..I guess that's a little late now The mare is supposed to resume training again in about a month. Canjuns do things a bit differently sometimes I guess.
