55% McCain
45% Obama - Biden

In other words, Kentucky

After that gem of speech on Thursday night, I can't believe McCain has any votes. That thing was painful. The only thing they didn't do to make P.T. Barnum proud was have the delegates hum Yankee Doodle while he was speaking. I felt like I turned the tv on to watch a Presidential Candidate and ended up with the price is right.....

Who decides on who to vote for, or against, because of a Convention Speech?

Since they (I am assuming "they" is network television) decided to have both candidates speak waaaay past my bedtime, I missed them both. I am guessing I didn't miss much.

Scavs missed a category...undecided.

Oh I agree with that. I could care less about what they are saying (because it's all b.s. on both sides) but for me it's all about how they are saying it. Let's just saying the whole 4 more years of the last 8 years theory couldn't be more true when it comes to public speaking. He was brutal.

You know it's funny, I got into a spirited debate the other day at the office with a co-worker who happens to be very republican and a female. I was talking about the whole vp thing and she said "who votes for the vp anyway" I would like to see that poll.....It certainly weighs heavily on my decision and could actually be my deciding factor.

It has piqued my interest this time around too.

I was very curious as to which direction both candidates would go with their first "real" decision of their potential presidential reign.

you think biden was the best he could do? the dems are in bigger trouble than i thought! guy wants change, runs on that platform, bring a new style to d.c., and he then picks one of the most entrenched senators in town?? and then there's the whole plagiarism (four syllable way to say LIAR) deal.
i think he could have done WAY better. he shoulda gone with hillary, the good she'd have done the campaign would have far outweighed whatever baggage she has-and biden has baggage as well.

Listen i have had enough of these threads! Change is simply a keyword. Nothing more, nothing less. There is no change coming because washington is gridlocked full of special interests and power brokers fueled by the mega rich on both sides. If you arent in college and going through an idealistic phase you would quickly recognize this since Mr. Obama rarely gives any concrete details about his changes because he knows he cant live up to them. He needs a guy like Biden who has some street cred on Capital Hill in order to get things done. The guy (Obama)has a lot of enemies in his own party who arent going to want to that "change" to happen and will work against him. At least Biden brings a suitcase full of political favors and a map of where the bodies are buried along with him. Obama needs a friendly face in order to deal with the natives. Can we please have some more mindless Beulah-like threads...

I kind of agree with cannonshell on the comment he just made

I have always thought that any real change coming from a presidential candidate will have to come from someone who has appeared one way pre-election, but will act another way after being elected.

I hope our collective gut is right on this pick

i agree, there won't be any change. i just find it amusingly ironic that a guy who runs screaming CHAAAANGE picks one of the senior senators to be his 2nd in command.

as for different threads...in about 8 weeks it'll be safe to come back in here. well, maybe 9.

This race is OVER. McCain has a solid base now that he picked Palin and Obama a splintered base because of the Clinton voters. All Obama had to do was pick Clinton and it was over, but he is now toast.
