Default 2002 Test Stakes ?

You and Carson Hollow hook up....

My question is, is this a case where a horse does not want to run up inside and go past on the fence, or was Cason Hollow just that game ? You would think after the opening quarter she might not have much left.

I don't get it either. She squeezed up the rail, it was the only reason she won the race.

i guess my question is, with the fractions Cason Hollow set and the trip You got, shouldn't You have blown her away, or did she hang a bit, or not want to accelerate up the rail ? ?

I'd say none of the above. Carson Hallow was dead game that day. You was all out in the stretch to just beat her by a nose. You was also squeezed against the rail for the entire stretch. If she was on the outside, maybe she eases on by.. impossible to say though. I'm not sure if there was any speed bias that day.. but with those fractions, it's possible that speed was holding pretty well.. which would mean You's race was even that more impressive to be able to catch CH. As Durkin said at the wire, it was really a race that didn't deserve a loser. Both were incredible that day.

Very gutsy move by Jerry Bailey to slice through that opening. He takes any other path, he loses that race.
