Default BC Wagering Menu

What an absolute joke. If you want to play anything more than a P3 on BC Friday you are forced to play the Las Palmas. Would an all BC P5 or a P4 ending with the Ladies Classic have been that difficult to include?

That's is stupid! Absolutely you would think the P4 would end with the Ladies Classic, I can't believe it won't!

I know its not really a wagering menu issue but with 14 races couldnt the BC have some kind of national promotion where you try to pick all 14 winners for a sponsored $5 or 10 million dollar prize? Make it a one entry per person deal and insure it. Have it similar to the all star balloting and allow people to choose online. Would tie the 2 days for the common people and appeal to the lottery crowd. At the very least you would get alot of media attention and have something to promote to the masses.

I'm never gonna get used to calling it the Ladies Classic...

Oh and yeah, this is a joke. Agreed.

I was hoping for a ladies classic/ classic double or a f&m turf/ turf double, something that would combine the two days, a little disappointing

Yeah it would have taken a lot of thought to have wagers that combine the two days.

Your idea makes too much sense. The BC people would never go for it

i'm sure they don't want to cannibalize the pick 6 pool with an all bc pick 5.

the same logic may have applied to the pick 4 on a card where only 5 races are glamor. if they started it 1 race after the pick 6, a lot of casual fans (read: me) might have passed on the "just in case i'm a genius" lottery tickets in the pick 6 in favor of a bigger all bc pick 4.

i think they like the idea of more dumb money chasing the pick 6. can you imagine the cash dump saturday if there's a carryover? and even if there isn't, you know the friday pick 6 will be a headliner.

as a fan it sucks, but it probably makes sense from a bottom line perspective.

I'm fine without an all BC P5 assuming they run the BC Juvy Filly Turf first but I really wish they had a P4 ending with the Ladies Classic. If they are promoting that as the feature race then treat it as such.

they know it's a feature race regardless. the next question is "how do we maximize handle?"

i think the structure makes sense if you look at it from that perspective.

i hated the 2 day format. and calling the distaff anything but that.

i think a bc race at 1.5 miles on anything but turf would be a terrible idea. they stretched the bad idea out.

yet i already took friday off work.

they know us better than we know ourselves.

Not me.

Between the unknown with Pro Ride, the racing menu, the wagering menu and the complete lack of intelligent thought, I'll go to work. Business as usual. I'm still not sure if I am even going to wager Saturday.

They lost this degenerate.

There's a super, it's just not a dime super for the classic.

I used to really look so forward to Breeders Cup Day..It was like Christmas for me.. However, the way things are now, I'm starting to look forward to it about as much as I do "Ground hog Day".

I think there's a mistake......I find it more than a little hard to believe there are Pick-4s in back to back races.

I sure hope so, it seemed a baffling decision.

And do people think that if they did something like a 50 cent or $1 minimum all BC P5 on Friday that it would really cripple their P6 pool? I'd think there would be enough money being bet on the day and enough different players in each pool that both would do fine and combined they'd take in more handle.

I couldn't agree with you more on this. I actually already made plans to play golf on BC Saturday and will work on "Ladies" day.

Very disappointing what this event has become, I doubt this is what John Gaines had in mind when came up with the "Championship" concept. Do we really need a turf sprint championship or dirt marathon? I originally said I wouldn't even make any wagers this year after they watered down the races so much and moved the ladies races to Friday, but I'll probably end up betting at least a little. It will be significantly less than I wagered last year.

It will be interesting to see what the total handle is this year compared to the last two years. I know it was down last year due to the weather we'll see what happens this year with the economy.

Oh and by the way when will the "Dirt Mile" actually be contested at a mile on the dirt?

OK I'll step down from my soap box now.
