Default Fair Grounds

With the FG set to open the 14th ,will the300k daily purse money be enought to lure a few of the Fla outfits to move? With all the complaining last year about GP. I was wondering if some trainers would actually move a nice string of ponies there or just ship in for the bigger purses?

Chuck can probably speak more eloquently on the topic but from what I'm hearing, FG is set up for a very good meet. New racing secretary which apparently will be a huge upgrade to the horsemen.

That being said, there's a new racing secretary at GP as welll...

Fair Grounds did in fact receive a significant influx of stall applications from newcomer trainers this year.

Isn't that great?

Well, not exactly..

CDI management -- in that unique, special way it has -- took the opportunity to promptly screw trainers that have been coming there for years out of stalls..

No loyal ATR participants I assume?

I'm guessing it's a bigger discussion.

I can tell you that FG's purse structure will make their racing even stronger and even more competitive- and I heard that from the new GP racing secretary.

With the convience of Delta shouldnt more owners and trainers at other venues consider the 750k gr3 purse of the Jackpot to help them get the earnings to qualify for the derby? Lot of complaints last year from some of the conections about the so-called easy money offered .

Loyal ATR participants were among BOTH the newcomers and the screwed.

You do realize that part of a trainer's job is to complain about the racing office.....right?

Just ask Chuck.

I know doc's aren't keen on punctuation, but note the comma in between "magic bullet" and "slots"

Am I missing something? Can you not bet on FG through NYRA Rewards?

It's one of my favorite meets of the year and I've been looking forward to opening day, so I hope that's not the case.

Thing is Joey that I think only NY residents can sign up for NYRA rewards. NY does have everything

I know. For all the bitching that people do about the NYRA, it seems like that they have a clue in regards to business practices and taking care of horseman and actually having a decent relationship with them.
