Default Should Hillary Clinton become Secretary of State?

I think it would be a good move. Her husband was/is well respected by other countries and the Clinton name alone would be a positive influence in negotiations with them.

It has to be a tough decision for him..I think Bill Richardson is the right call, but he owes "them" so who knows

I think it would be great because it gets her out of New York. Doubt it will happen since Bill is making big money for himself and his foundation overseas. Too much of a conflict of interest.

I believe him when they say it's for charity and he's helping people in Africa.

I agree that his Foundation is legitimate and helps an awful lot of people. However, it does accept contributions from foreign governments that might presesnt a conflict of interest with Hillary's job as Sec of State.

When you deal with the Clintons you deal with rattlesnakes....so that would be no! But, that being said, she's probably the best of the lot

Maybe they get Bill along with Hillary. I'm not sure how much she could have him tag along in meetings

Picking Hillary may mean she does not run against him in the primaries in 2012, and he'll probably be unopposed, saves a lot of money and headache

I hope he gives it to her, she's earned a position. The primary was brutal but she's been a real trooper since. I think the Clinton reputation abroad is solid and her appointment would be welcomed by our friends. Clinton bashing is popular here by certain folks but the reality is that Bill's presidency will be looked upon favorably by history...his indiscretions aside and Hillary has more than proved herself. A solid choice imo.

there's no way obama will have opposition in '12 from a fellow party member.
and i'm not quite sure how being married to bill makes hillary a good choice for anything. how does that qualify her? i mean, would anyone have expected laura bush to get a cabinet post if mccain had won??
then again...maybe i could be an industrial electrician, since i'm married to one.

One could use the same criteria for what qualifies Obama to be President .... Hill actually has been a Senator longer hasnt she? She has more on the job experiance than the newly crowned King , Im just saying this if you are using qualifications as a criteria for positions in government.

her first role in public was as a us senator; he has been a state and then us senator. i'd say they're pretty equal in that regard.

i just don't understand the logic behind 'well, she was first lady, therefore she can be _____'. or that she's qualified because she's bills wife. perhaps they should say she's qualified based on her own merits, not because of who she's been married to. if all she has is her experience as a pols wife, that's not much.

i dunno about that Ziggy... I dont think being a state senator is anywhere close to being a us senator.

I think being a state senator is closer to being a Carolina Barbeque worker than being a us senator.

But that is just my opinion of course.

Clinton has TONS more experience than Obama (including living in the white house and having a voice there also -I think she worked on healthcare in the white house). Also, think of all the world leaders she was able to develop a relationship with when being the First Ho-bag.

That being said, Hillary Clinton is still a DoucheNozzel.
