One horse's nose was in front of the other. Which horse is not clear.

There was a horse with a nose past the wire so I wonder why they don't have a photo showing a horse who's nose is on the wire while the other horse's nose hasn't reached the wire.

The steward, Albert something explained that while the winner did bother the 3rd place horse he did not cost him a placing...

and he said it with a straight face.

I've had horses than didn't interfere with anyone didn't cost anyone a placing and were taken down simply because they were long shots.

Further explanation of why the photo was so tough to decipher...

This one is a headscratcher, here's the photo. I saw the race live on TV Thurs night, and thought Gooch #2 had won being familar with the Hollywood camera placement at the wire, Vic called it Gooch at the wire also, I don't see how the 6 Kbello won the race.

Here's the slowed replay:

LOL - thanks for posting that copy of the photo, I finally figured it out and now agree with the stewards (and I had the 2) - but I had to put on the magnifying glasses.

What appears to clearly be the nostril of the two, is (when looked at closely) actually attached to the head with the shadow roll, which is the six.

With the magnifiers on, the outline of the two's nose is clear as day (it is rounded, with zero nostril flare), is an inch back from the wire, and the winning nostril is not his.

I agree, if you look really carefully, nostril attached to shadow roll horse is the winner. I don't think they're gonna win that challenge. At first I thought that Kbello was the 2 horse and could see why they'd challenge him winning, but when I realized I had the names backward, I have to side with the stewards.

Important note guys, I tried uploading the place photo (it was removed off of the Hollywood site) last night but the file was too large, you can find it on the paceadvantage forum by typing in the search critaria on google, it will show Gooch's nose past the wire. I couldn't decipher the gray horse's nose, this is the photo they(Hollywood Pk) put up after the unusually long inquiry/photo after the race not the win photo. All I am suggesting here is it was not the norm in what happened, and the slow motion video I think 9/10 people would have agreed the outside horse would have won if a straw poll was called.

This slow mo replay is the best evidence, am I crazy but it certainly looks that Gooch was the winner this day, he even got his head down on the wire, if not this is the best optimal ellusion I've seen in awhile for photo finishes.
