Jay Privman brings up the subject in the DRF that perhaps the result of this race could impact how strongly some voters that haven't voted yet view Indian Blessing. He mentions how a win would be another grade one sprint win for her and suggests that may enhance her chances of winning the Eclipse for champion female sprinter. I feel the opposite way. In order for people to consider Indian Blessing as the champion over Ventura, they'd have to almost discount the result of the BC F/M Sprint and decide that Indian Blessing just isn't the same on a synthetic (her trainer says he believes she's four lengths better on real dirt) as she is on dirt. A win here would, while not exactly refuting that sentiment from Baffert, make that argument weaker because it's hard to discount a horse's effort on a surface that she'd have a grade one and grade two win on.

I like that Baffert says he's aiming for the Golden Shaheen next year with her against the boys in Dubai and says the goal for 2009 will be the open sprint instead of the longer female version.

I'm looking at going with Miguel's Mascot in the Eddie Logan. Not sure what to think of the extra week and change he took off after his race on 11/6. I guess holding off Bourbon Bay took alot out of him.(BB has since run back in the Gr. III Generous on 11/29 and dead heated for 3rd behind Mr Rod and Bittel Road)

I'm thinking this one has found a home on the weeds. His off the pace style could bode well in here and the price should be just right to take a stab. Just my novice opinion.

I hope this race stays on the grass.

There are two horses in here who pedigree wise could be big time grass runners. Congar Bay a colt out of Pico Teneriffe should relish running on turf.
Mark Casse is a good trainer who spots his horses well. I think he could get lost in the wagering and could offer big time value.

The other horse who might be a good one is Back At You. Stormy Atlantics love the grass. The dam is out of Royal Academy. This horse showed ability when he wired the field in his maiden breaking score. He should save ground and if he is not a rank speed demon and settles into trip he could be tough to deny.

I'm playing both of the horses in an exacta since I can't seperate them and would not be surprised if they run 1-2.

Interesting that Rosario jumps off of Back at you for Congar Bay.

I hate playing chalk but Indian Blessing looks like a winner.
Indyanne does not want to run a step more than six.
The horses inside of Indian Blessing are mediocre.

Only horse that has me thinking about hedging is Bsharpsonata. I think she will need her A+ race to beat Indian Blessing's B race.

I noticed that but I don't know the what went down between the agents and trainers. Nonetheless both horses have capable jockeys. It comes down to the horses. If they are as good as I believe they are things will work themselves out.

I might put in a Kelly Leak ex box saver as he looks like a high quality horse.

Conger Bay is out of a turf stakes mare in Pico Teneriffe who was a quality runner so it would not be a shock for me to see this horse move up.

I like this race because it the chalk looks pretty weak, I was going to play the following pick three starting in this race

346/4,10/236

I am interested to see how they bet the Eddie Logan. The top three choices all have some serious questions

Kelly Leak had a bad trip and poor setup in that grass sprint but with all that they had to be disappointed with the effort, I dont believe they think he is a turf horse just looking for soft spots, just cant like at 5/2. Back at You comes out of a mdn that I dont trust the figure, only the third place horse has run anything close to the number and it was a bad mdn that he won. The wild card is Oil Town. Saddler/Smith/ and Tommytown Tbreds had a real nice looking import last month, they also brought in black monmba so I think they are probably pretty savvy buyers.
