Default TrackNet pulls the plug on Vegas racebooks

I know there was a thread about this earlier, but it actually happened today.

The Vegas books will continue to take bets, but the bets at those 5 tracks will not be included in the parimutual pools. And of course the races won't be shown. It's not clear from the article I read (below) whether live odds will be shown.

There will probably be some kind of limit on getting full track odds. The guy at Jerry's Nugget said they would only cover $200 at full track odds; anything above $200 would be paid with a cap of 20-1 for win, 8-1 for place, and 4-1 for show. I'm guessing Caesars or the Hilton would have higher limits than Jerry's.

This is a good article by Richard Eng, the turf writer in the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

http://www.lvrj.com/sports/38688994.html

His point is quite clear and very sound as it is a certainty that TrackNet needs Vegas more than Vegas needs TrackNet. The biggest shame in it is that Gulfstream was off to such a strong start numbers-wise and this will hurt immensely.

Can we assume that Tracknet is still at least talking to Vegas to work this out?

They're talking according to this article in the Bloodhorse but it seems like we hear that one side submits a proposal, the other side waits three days and then says it's ridiculous.
