Default 1.7 million for this?

Corporate Trust purchased as a yearling in 05 for 1.7 million is running at turf paradise for a $12,500 tag as a first time starter in the 6th race Monday. He worked 5 fur in 58 3/5 on 1-13-09. He is now a 5yo gelding and is by Unbridleds Song. and I thought some things I bought went bad.

Probably hoping someone will claim him and get a small portion of their losses back.

There is no doubt that when they bought the horse he looked the part but you can NEVER for see the future. Seeing that he is older starting for such a low price i am sure he most likely really hurt him self early on. Somethings are just unforseen and that is what makes this business what it is. These are animals that we work with not machines. Our plans for certain horses sometimes don't pan out the way we would like; but that is the gamble you take when you sign the ticket for the horse. This business as a whole is truely a gamble.

I'm too lazy to look it up but I doubt that the owner who bought the horse at auction still owns the horse.

Let's see, in for a $12.5K tag at Turf Paradise.

So, what, a well-beaten fourth gives him a better ROI than the Green Monkey, right?

The group that owns him now "Three sisters thoroughbreds" buy alot of really expensive Darley and Shadwell reject horses and run them in california, arizona and washington for Mike Chambers, who hits at about 38 to 40%

Actually oil went from 40 a barrel to 140 from 05 to 08 so technically Darley is worth 130,987,090,963.68 - 1.7mil

Except that the Unbridled tribe is notorious for this sort of thing. He has some big hits, but the many more misses are prone to get hurt early on. You can spend your money more prudently, play the odds better, by not going so high on youngsters from this sire. These are the things agents on commission won't tell their clients.

Yeah. Pretty clever of John Ferguson. He really put one over on his clueless client with this one...

Race 8 today:#1 was bought for 500k,#4 bought for 900k#6 for 450k.
Occasionally at TP one of the Million dollar chronic losers will show up in a Claiming race too.
