Default Joel - Jump on In

Joel, I thought I'd give you a heads up on this filly, who is entered in the last race at Del Mar on Sunday. She's by Jump Start and was the highest priced filly ($410,000) at that sale (Forget which one) where the Red Bullet went for over $1 million. Anyway, she's apparently working so well that she was nominated for the Sorrento and John Sadler is quoted as saying that he would be disappointed if she didn't win. I think she worked in 58 and change recently.

Also, another Jump Start is Early Vintage, a Dale Romans-trained filly. She broke her maiden in her debut at Churchill and worked a couple of days ago at the Spa.

Trophy Road, Jump Start's first winner, is entered in an Ellis Park stakes tomorrow....

So far, it looks like the Jump Starts need a race to really get going, but he's been a very pleasant surprise to me.

I've had Jump On In in my stable alert since she was a yearling. She's tail female to Grey Flight and looks to have a ton of speed to match that classy bottom. Jump Start should be successful at stud. He showed a lot of brilliance for an Indy. And he hails from the Lea Lane/Lea Lark family that's produced such stallion standouts as Miswaki and Southern Halo.

Romans filly is a SERIOUS filly. I expect her to win the next stakes race up here for fillies. Her debut was stunning. Team Valor really has a good one in her.

I hope so, Oracle; I'm really looking forward to seeing her run and hopefully become a stakes winner.

Betsy I don't think you have much to worry about. ANybody who saw her debut knows shes a stakes filly. I think she is MUCH better than anyone who ran in the opening day stakes race and quite frankly she is teh best two year old filly I have seen run so far this year. I think she has Eclipse Award type quality, I really do. Shes bred to run all day and she had what i would term a "perfect" debut. Breaking a tad slow she had to handle dirt in her face and traffic as well. She proved to have a great racing personality allowing Bejarano to use gears with her and she accelerated when he said to and waited when he said to. In the stretch she had her ears pricked forward and appeared to be having a ball out there. The time was exteremely fast for that surface and when you add that to the traffic she had and the ground she lost on the turn you really only have to see that race once to know shes a grade one filly. Shes really the goods. I haven't seen another two year old filly in the country who I would rather have going forward.

Wow, she does sound like the real deal. Maybe you'll get a nice price on her in the next 2 year old filly stakes up here!

I guess this must be a perfect example of why Beyers are not the most reliable source of evaluating races. Early Vintage ran faster than the filly stakes at CD and almost as fast as CQ, yet her Beyer is not particularly high (I would guess she got in the lower 80's......which, actually, is very solid for a debut).
