i read today about the farm bill idea that obama floated, and the reaction by the senators here and in other farm states towards blocking payments to larger farms. obama said 'we all must sacrifice'. a noble thought indeed, perhaps our government could start that by slashing budgets, rather than increasing them? by not approving any unnecessary spending? by not having oh, say 400-500 member staffs like some senior members of congress have? congress could even give up their most recent raise as a symbolic gesture. lol yeah, like that would happen.

honestly its a shame, newspapers used to play a vital role in our society.
in their current form i don't think you're going to find many rallying to the cause. |
