He's a free agent after the year and wants out of Cleveland so they might as well take whatever they can get for him now. If the Giants can get him without giving up a #1 pick it seems a no brainer even though I'm not sure how well Edwards will coexist with Coughlin.

This guy's head is about as bad as his hands. He was atrocious last year save two out of nowhere Monday Night performances.
He'll get eaten up and spat out in NY. But, if he reverts to 2007 form he's better than anything else they have. NT
