Default When was the last time?

That the winning trainer of the Kentucky Derby also won the 1st race at Sun Ray Park going 440 yards the next day?

No wonder why he was in a rush to get out of that interview. LOL.

It's like Stew Elliott coming back at PHA in the $7500 claiming opener on Monday after winning the Derby on Smarty Jones.

I know everyone reacted in very similar fashion when he made the lead and crossed the wire. I know I dropped a big, "Who is that?! What!?" My friend said, "Oh no, you've got to be kidding me."

But in all seriousness, they won the Kentucky Freaking Derby. That's pretty awesome. This guy vanned the horse himself from New Mexico to Louisville. He stopped for gas with the Kentucky Derby winner in his trailer. You can't make this stuff up. We can insult, poke fun and find ways he should have lost, or shouldn't have won, but he did. Part of me can't help but enjoy this... these guys don't buy 50 2-year-olds and weed them out. They took a shot and did it.

It's crazy, but that's horse racing. Big Brown, Barbaro... they have nothing on this story for Hollywood.

Drugs still reads through the old Commodore Downs charts looking for bad trips and nefarious trainers.
