Default This Saturday and Capping nightmares...

I can't wait for the races at Arlington this Saturday. It is the one day of the year that I am glad I moved here from NYC.
There is only one problem. I suck at capping turf races. I consider myself a good dirt capper (although recently they could run races on the moon and I would screw it up) but I have always had trouble with races on the weeds. I have no idea why!!!
Does anyone else have something like this, where they can cap routes but not sprints, or fillies but not colts, or (like me) one surface but not another. I have never been able to figure out why I suck at grass races, but who knows maybe I'll turn it around on Saturday at Arlington.

I'm with you on teh fact that turf is a lot harder than dirt. I have moderate success with both, but in those big blanket turf finishes it always seems that my horse is getting 4th or 5th a few parts of a length bhenind.

Sean,
Its pretty funny me and gpk were talking about this on messenger on sunday. I'm a pretty good dirt handicapper but an absolute horrid turf handicapper. Pro or "terror of tampa/colonial/ozzies broken leg oval) is exactly the opposite, horrid on dirt but great on grass. Neither of us has any clue, but i guess the best advice i can offer is bet on what you know and if you dont know it, find someone or a group that know more and play your picks off them to see what they think. Sometimes just bouncing horses off of other people can be of great help. Either way good luck

Ahhh I remember the Arlington Million. Lets just say that my experience betting the race those two years inquiries were lodged have helped remind me what a prison cell would be like.

Thanks Arlington for keeping me on the right side of the law.
