can someone tell me if Tuscan Evening has won a race in the states yet? She was such a dog over here, had plenty of ability but couldnt win any race. She should have won the Irish 1000 Guineas, but wandered all over the place and got Dqed from 2nd to 4th.

Jan 22, 2009 msw going 6.5 down the hill at SA, she won by 5 in 1:12.
Feb 28, 2009 alw nwot1x 6.5 down the hill at SA, she won by 3.75 in 111.4.
April 12, 2009 Las Cienagas G3 same course and distance, 3rd by .75 in 111.4.
May 10, 2009 alw nwot2x 8.5 at HP, she won by 1.75 in 140.2.

I wouldn't really say she's faced anyone of note yet here, but she's run well.

Thanks man, appreciate it. She has talent no doubt, but rarely expressed it over here. She seemed like the type that would benefit from medication (assuming she has raced on it)..

That was a super legit win by Well Monied, going to be tough to beat in the American Oaks.

Really? I thought it was OK but Mrs. Kipling was definitely better in the Senorita. I also think Laragh, Gozzip Girl, and Magical Affair are just as good if not better and that doesn't include any foreigners.

Well, it raises some questions that Mrs. Kipling was penciled in for the Honeymoon all week long and then failed to enter the race. She also doesn't particularly seem like a 10f-type filly.

Don't know much about those East Coasters, but aren't the first two front-running types?

Gozzip Girl is not a frontrunner but more a beneficiary of an excellent ride yesterday by Kent Desormeaux as he took advantage of a paceless race. Magical Affair will easily handle 10 furlongs and will certainly enjoy a stronger early tempo.

It sounded like Drysdale opted to skip the Honeymoon rather than passing because of an injury.

I just noticed that the American Oaks is on July 5- isn't that a Sunday? If so, that seems dumb.
