Default Buddy Gil??

Buddy Gil goes out for trainer Bill Mott Saturday in the Cigar Mile at Arlington.
Ridden by Garrett Gomez. I guess I didn't even know he was active and I didn't know that Mott had him. Seems strange to me.

Also in the same race is High Expectations going out for Christine Janks. This horse I absolutely love and is undefeated at Arlington this season. The one turn mile is perfect for this horse.

i thought back when buddy went away that it was for good...but they've brought him back for another go round, and mott has him now. i liked him back when he was on the tc scene...esp with him being by eastern echo. i'd like to see him do something, but coming back from injury and that amount of time off--gonna be tough.

He came back in the same race that Dont Get Mad ran in when Greater Good set the track record. Think he was 5th of 6. Came back on the turf at Ellis in a handicap race and finished a nicer 2nd and atleast showed a few signs of life that day. Doubt he has a chance in here up top but could fit in underneath.

His last win was in a moneyed allowance race at SA over two years ago.
It looks like Mott is also having trouble finding out what to do with him.

I said the same thing yesterday. Who knew Buddy Gil was still active?

I admit, he was my derby horse that year. ONLY AND ONLY because I had that dream that a gelding won the derby. I WENT WITH THE WRONG GELDING! DANG THIS HORSE GETS ME ALL PISSED OFF WHEN I THINK ABOUT IT!

But I guess what else is Buddy Gil going to do if he can't race? If he is healthy and still enjoys racing, why not race him. Glad to see him with Mott though. I think he will take care of him.
